National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand is one among 31 NITs established by the Government of India by an Act of the Parliament. Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Professor (English) and Assistant Librarian from PWD category candidates possessing excellent academic background. Interested candidates may apply in prescribed application form, which may be downloaded along with details of posts, qualifications, experience and general conditions from the Institute website i.e. www.nituk.ac.in. Vacancy Details:
1. Professor (English)
Essential Qualification: Ph.D.
Other essential requirements: Two Ph.D. degrees guided in Career as sole or principal supervisor. The following during the past 04 years; (i) 03 papers in SCI journals; (ii) One High value sponsored or consultancy project; (iii) Academic outreach activity equivalent to two self-financed courses offered as coordinator and main teacher; (iv) Two experiments or computational design projects with added to teaching laboratories where appropriate.
2. Assistant Librarian
Essential Qualification:
(i)Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale or at least 60% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with superior knowledge of computerized library service.
(ii)Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.
(iii)However, candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Librarian.
Other Terms And Conditions:
1.Candidates belonging to SC/ST and OBC categories are required to attach the Caste Certificate issued by competent authority. Non-creamy Layer Certificate for OBC candidates only, is based on parents’ income. The Candidates are required to submit OBC certificates along with non-creamy layer certificate valid on 20th November, 2015. However in absence of necessary certificates, guideline issued by Government of India will be followed.
2.Persons serving in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs should send their applications either through proper channel or furnish a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE with application or before Personal Interview /Written Test.
3.Higher initial basic pay may be given to the exceptionally qualified and deserving candidate(s).
4.The Institute reserves the right not to fill up the posts, cancel the advertisement in whole or in part, without assigning any reason and its decision in this regard shall be final.
5.The Written Test and Interviews shall be conducted at National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the test/ interview. However, transport and other facility will be provided as per Government of India norms.
6.Incomplete applications or applications without relevant supporting enclosures or applications not in prescribed form will be out rightly rejected. The Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay. Interim correspondence will not be entertained or replied to.
7.Probable Date of Joining of selected candidates will be 1st January, 2016.

How To Apply:
1. Candidates willing to apply are requested to download Application Form from the Institute website i.e. www.nituk.ac.in.
2.Candidates shall complete the form in all respects without leaving any mandatory column blank. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Please enter dash if the information sought is not applicable to you. No appeal will be considered to correct the information given in application form.
3.Candidates should submit self-attested photocopies of certificates and documents mentioned below in the same sequence. No additional documents / certificates should be attached.
Applications without copies of appropriate certificates/documents shall be rejected.
a.Disability certificate from competent authority is required. In the absence of certificate, application will be summarily rejected.
b.Proof of Date of Birth (High school certificate/Birth certificate/leaving certificate). In the absence of certificate, application will be summarily rejected.
c.Category Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates only) issued by competent authority. However in absence of necessary certificates guideline issued by Government of India will be followed.

e.Mark sheets of SSC (X) & HSSC (X+II) must be attached. Final Year Mark sheets/Grade Cards and Degree Certificates of prescribed academic qualifications mentioned in the Application Form, in the same sequence.
f.No degree shall be considered unless supported by Degree Certificate or Provisional Degree Certificate along with mark sheets. Only a grade card/mark sheet will not be treated as proof of eligibility of the Degree, unless it specifically and unconditionally indicates that the student is eligible for award of degree.
g.Rank certificates (if any).
h.NET/SET qualifying certificates are required for the post of Assistant Librarian.
i.List of publications as per the categories of publication duly signed by candidate for the post of Professor (English).
j.Details of Research Projects/Consultancy Projects/Short Term Courses Conducted/ Experimental (Computational) Projects introduced in Laboratory/Courses Taught/Patents mentioned in the application (not more than 5 pages and each page signed by candidate).
k.Statement of purpose (duly signed).
l.Photocopies of two publications which are most important in candidate’s opinion.
m.Experience Certificate from employer (Any experience claimed without certificate will not be counted).
n.Any other information which the candidate desires to provide (One Page only duly signed).
4.All photocopies and documents including covering letter should be enclosed with application form. Application form must be on front page.   All photocopies, documents should be in A4 size.
Please do not submit your application in any file, neither use any cover sheet or binding strips etc. Simply tie all the pages by stapler / lace.
