General Conditions:
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible for applying.
- UPPER AGE LIMIT: 35 years as on 21/02/2020 (relaxation of 03 years in case of OBC and 05 years in case of SC, ST candidates. Age relaxation for PWBD candidates is as per Govt. Rules.)
- The period of training will be one year and apprentices engaged will be registered under Apprentice Act, 1961.
- Those who have undergone/are undergoing Apprenticeship training or have job experience for a period of one year or more as on the date of joining as Apprentice are not eligible to be considered
for the above Apprenticeship training. - The percentage of marks in qualifying exam (ITI) declared by the recognized University/Board/Institute will be considered in order to short list candidates.
- Candidates who have passed ITI in relevant field in/after 2018 are eligible to apply for the post of Trade Apprentice.
- Successful completion of Apprenticeship training does not make the apprentices eligible for direct employment in Space Applications Centre or any other units of Indian Space Research Organization
/ Department of Space. - No interim correspondence regarding the apprenticeship training will be entertained.
- Canvassing in any form will be a cause for disqualification.
- Empanelment / short listing of candidates will be on the basis of information furnished in the online application. Only short listed / empaneled candidates will be called for documents verification
and further process subject to availability of vacant positions for Apprenticeship. - Intimation to short listed / empanelled candidates for further process will be sent through E-mail. For this purpose, candidates are required to furnish their E-mail ID correctly and compulsorily while
submitting the application. - Candidates will have to produce all the relevant documents in original (date of birth proof, mark sheets, testimonials & certificates of all educational qualification, caste/tribe/disability certificate
in prescribed format (if applicable) as and when asked for, failing which the candidate will be considered disqualified for Apprenticeship training. - Incomplete application forms shall be rejected.
- If any discrepancy in Name, Age, ITI percentage & year of passing, caste/tribe etc. is found regarding the data in on-line application at any stage, it will result in disqualification of the candidature and the candidate will have no claim for Apprenticeship training.
- If the candidate does not meet the prescribed criteria of fitness at the time of joining, his/her candidature will automatically be cancelled and he/she would have no claim for Apprenticeship training.

- The Space Applications Centre (SAC) is an institution of research in Ahmedabad under the aegis of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is one of the major centres of ISRO that is engaged in the research, development and demonstration of applications of space technology in the field of telecommunications, remote sensing, meteorology and satellite navigation (Sat Nav). This includes research and development of on-board systems, ground systems and end user equipment hardware and software.
- Some of the achievements of the Space Applications Centre include development of communication and meteorological payloads for INSAT satellites, optical and microwave payloads for IRS satellites. SAC provides its infrastructure to conduct training courses to the students of the Center for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and The Pacific (CSSTEAP). It was founded by Dr. Vikram Sarabhai.
- Space Applications Centre (SAC), is a major research and development centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It plays a key role in realizing vision and mission of ISRO. Located at Ahmedabad, SAC is spread across two campuses having multi-disciplinary activities.
- The core competence of the centre lies in development of space borne and air borne instruments/payloads and their applications for national development and societal benefits. These applications are in diverse areas and primarily meet the communication, navigation and remote sensing needs of the country. Besides these, the centre also contributes significantly in scientific and planetary missions of ISRO like Chandrayan-1, Mars Orbiter Mission etc.
- The communication transponders developed at this centre for Indian National Satellite (INSAT) and Geo Synchronous Satellite (GSAT) series of satellites are used by government and private sector for VSAT, DTH, internet, broadcasting, telephony etc. These satellites are instrumental in reaching remote parts of the country. The payloads for major navigation systems of the country – Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) and GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) are being developed by this centre.
- This centre designs and develops the optical and microware sensors for the satellites, signal and image processing software, GIS software and many applications for Earth Observation (EO) programme of ISRO. These applications are in diverse areas of Geosciences, Agriculture, Environment and Climate Change, Physical Oceanography, Biological Oceanography, Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Hydrosphere etc.
- The facilities at SAC includes highly sophisticated payload integration laboratories, electronic and mechanical fabrication facilities, environmental test facilities, systems reliability/assurance group, image processing and analysis facilities, project management support group and a well-stocked library. SAC has active collaborations with industry, academia, national and international institutes for research and development. The centre also has state-of-art in-house and mobile exhibitions to propagate space technology and applications amongst students and public.
- The Centre also conducts nine-month post graduate diploma courses for students from the Asia Pacific region under the aegis of the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education (CSSTEAP) in satellite meteorology and communication.
