General Information:
- THDC India Limited, A Mini Ratna Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Undertaking invites application from eligible candidates who are domicile of Uttarakhand for undergoing one year apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act, 1961 (as amended from time to time) in the trades mentioned below at its THDC India Ltd., Koteshwar for the year 2020-21.
- If No suitable number of candidate will found in the designated trade then will be taken from other trades.
- Only ITI passed (regular candidate) in the years 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 from NCVT / SCVT recognized Institutes in the respective trades can apply for the vacancy in the designated trade.
- The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum will be 30 Years as on 01-03-2020 (Relaxed by 05 years for SC/ST & 03 years for OBC (Non Creamy Layer) & 10 years for 40% or more than 40% PWD (Person with disability) candidate (VH/HH/OH) in their category.
- As per Provisions of Apprentices Act 1961.
- 01 year as per Provisions of Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Preference to PAF/PAA: 25% of the total seats are earmarked for candidates from Project Affected Families (PAF) and Projected Affected Areas (PAA) of Tehri & Koteshwar, with first preference to members of Project Affected Families in case total marks in merit in equal in respect of PAF & PAA.
- Candidates should be eligible with respect to age criteria and educational qualification as on closing date as mentioned in the letter. Result awaited candidate need not apply.
- No extension of apprenticeship Training and no employment will be given after the completion of apprenticeship Training by THDCIL, Tehri.
- Candidates will have to make their own stay arrangements.
- The candidates who after the completion of their education have undergone apprenticeship Training in any organization, training or job experience of one year or more shall not be considered eligible for apprenticeship training in THDCIL, Koteshwar.
- There will be no interview. The eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit list-cum-counseling formed on the basis of marks secured in Matriculation examination (10th) and ITI Examination as per following details, total marks in 10th and ITI including extra paper if any shall be considered for calculating weightage.
- Candidates have to submit medical fitness certificate obtained from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon (Gazetted).
- Those candidates who have successfully completed ITI (regular) in 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020 are only eligible for Apprentice Training. Candidates whose results are awaited will not be eligible for applying for apprentice Training.
- Candidates may kindly ensure they are possessing required qualification for the above Apprentice Training. If at the time of joining or after joining the Apprentice Training, it is found that candidates
has submitted wrong information or the documents submitted are not true, then the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled without giving any reason. - Management reserves the right for Amendment/Rescheduling/termination/suspension of selection process without giving any reason.
- Corrigendum/Modification/updation related to selection process will be made available in the recruitment section of THDCIL website www.thdc.co.in No information in this regard will be given or
will be publish in news paper or through any other medium. - Candidates are advised to check the website regularly for updates related to the engagement of Apprentice Trainee in THDCIL.

About Us:
- THDC India Limited, a Joint Venture of Govt. of India and Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, is a Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India (GoI) and registered as a Public Limited Company in July-88 under the Companies Act, 1956. The Equity of company is shared between GoI and GoUP in the ratio of 75 : 25. THDCIL was conferred ‘Mini Ratna–Category-I Status in Oct-09 and up-graded to Schedule ‘A’ PSU in July-10 by the Govt. of India.
- THDCIL was constituted with the sole objective to develop, operate & maintain the 2400 MW Tehri Hydro Power Complex and other Hydro projects. The 2400 MW Tehri Hydro Power Complex comprises of (1) Tehri Dam & HPP (1000 MW), (2) Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) (3) Tehri PSP (1000 MW).
- The Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Company has been modified on 31st Aug-2010 to reflect the current business reality of projects outside Bhagirathi valley. The object clause of Company has been amended to incorporate development of Conventional / Non-conventional / Renewable sources of Energy and River Valley Projects.
- Presently, THDCIL has a portfolio of 13 projects (Hydro, Thermal, Wind & Solar), totaling to an installed capacity of 5,539 MW, which includes 1513 MW Operational and balance under various stages of development / implementation. In addition, a number of Projects in the country are in the business development stage.
- The Corporation has grown into a multi-Project Organization, with Projects spread over various States as well as neighbouring country, Bhutan.
- The 1000 MW Tehri HPP was commissioned by THDCIL in 2006-07. The Tehri HPP (1000 MW) is a multipurpose project, providing electricity to the Northern Region, Irrigation benefits to Uttar Pradesh, and Drinking Water to NCT of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Due to regulated releases from the Tehri storage reservoir, the existing downstream Hydro projects of the State are also benefitted by way of augmentation in generation at no additional cost to them.
