General Conditions:
- Centre for Stem Cell Research (CSCR-www.cscr.in) a unit of Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine, GKVK, Bangalore (an Autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology) located in the Christian Medical College Bagayam Campus, Vellore Tamil Nadu. The mandate of CSCR is aimed at applying stem cell science and other innovative technologies for unmet medical needs. The major focus of research at CSCR is towards developing gene therapy for haematological diseases, applications of induced pluripotent stem cells and musculoskeletal regeneration some of which are at advanced stages of clinical product development.
- inStem-CSCR invites Online Applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling up the following vacancies under Scientific Cadre on Direct Recruitment failing which by Deputation/Absorption.

- The Scientist-E carries pay level-13 (Basic Pay of Rs 1,23,100/-) and Fellow-E/Scientist-D carries pay level-12 (Basic pay of Rs 78,800/-) of the pay structure of 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Other benefits include Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Facilities as per Govt. of India Rules. The selected candidates will be covered under National Pension System (NPS).
- Candidates must have fulfilled the eligibility criteria as on the last date of submission of online applications.
- It may be noted that candidature will remain provisional till the veracity of the concerned documents are verified by the Appointing Authority.
- Age Relaxation for the reserved category candidates against the reserved vacancies shall be applicable as per Government of India Rules i.e., OBC-3 years.
- There would be no upper age limit for all employees being engaged in the work of the institute (inStem) /CSCR or department (DBT) for the last 5 years or more (as on 28th Feb 2020)

About Us:
- The Centre for Stem Cell Research (CSCR) has a head appointed by the Director, Christian Medical College that is responsible for the overall management of the Centre. The Head, CSCR is advised by a Core Committee, which is appointed by the Principal, CMC, Vellore. The Core Committee consists of at least four senior faculty members of CMC, Vellore who work on a regular basis in an advisory capacity with the Head, CSCR, particularly for scientific and personnel related issues. The Head, CSCR is the Convener of this committee. The decisions taken by the Core Committee have to be ratified by the Steering Committee.
- A Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) appointed by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) monitors and guides the scientific program at CSCR which is then reported to the Governing Council chaired by the Secretary, DBT, Government of India.
- Research at inStem addresses complex problems in areas of cell-differentiation and tissue regeneration using human pluripotent cells, examines clinical manifestations of diseases that can potentially be treated by stem cells, models human diseases using stem cells, uses model organisms to address fundamental questions in regenerative biology, develops platforms to interrogate signaling pathways with new chemical entities, and finally, develops tools that will help to better understand the biology driving stem cells and eventually treat disease states. Research is carried out by groups who work on tightly-knit themes, crossing boundaries and developing new approaches to address questions larger than the expertise of the individual laboratory.
