General Condition:
- Applications are invited for the walk in interview for 04 post of Staff Nurse (contractual) on the prescribed proforma for the Ministry of Health & F.W., Govt. of India Sponsored “National Programme for Health Care of Elderly (NPHCE)” at Department of Geriatric Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi – 221005 under Prof. Anup Singh, Department of Geriatric Medicine, Head & Nodal Officer. (Development Scheme No-NPHCE-4191).
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending walk in interview.
- Incomplete application form will not be entertained.
- Application should be typed on A4 size paper (Proforma Enclosed) and each Application should accompany with relevant certificate duly attested, complete valid email id and working mobile number.
- Application can be given in Hindi or English.
- Those who are in service should apply through proper channel.
- Candidate with experience of work in the area of the old age health care (Geriatric) or Related field will be preferred.
- All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI/BHU guidelines.
- Degrees must be from the recognized Institution/University.
- Reservation for reserved category will be done as per University rules as for the project.
- The Last day of accepting the application form in the office of Geriatric Medicine will be 16.12.2020
- The posts are purely contractual and extension will be provided as per NPHCE Norms based on work satisfaction on quarterly basis.
- The qualification in exceptional situation will be relaxed by the Selection Committee/Nodal Officer & his decision will be final.
- The services of applicants can be terminated at one month notice if work or behavior is found unsatisfactory.
- The Nodal Officer reserves the right to cancel/modify or invite any person as per requirement of the Scheme.
- As per BHU rules, relaxable in exceptional circumstances & the decision of the Nodal Officer will be final.

- Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was created under the Parliamentary legislation – B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India. It has produced many great freedom fighters and builders of modern India and has immensely contributed to the progress of the nation through a large number of renowned scholars, artists, scientists and technologists who have graced its portals. The area of the main campus of this premiere Central University is 1300 acres, having well maintained roads, extensive greenery, a temple, an air strip and buildings which are an architectural delight. The Air Field of the campus was started for military training for flying during the second world war. Another campus of the university at Barkachha , in Mirzapur district, covering an area of 2700 acres is coming up. The university comprises 3 Institutes, 14 Faculties 140 Departments, 4 Inter displinary Centers a constituent college for women’s and 3 Constituents Schools, spanning a vast range of subjects pertaining to all branches of humanities,social science,technology, medicine ,science, fine arts and performing arts. It has 6 centres of Advanced Studies, 10 Departments under Special Assistance Programme and a large number of specialized Research Centers. Four Degree Colleges of the city are affiliated to the University. Bharat Kala Bhavan, the reputed museum of the university, is a treasure trove of rare collections. The 927 bed hospital of the University is equipped with all the modern a menities. - A staunch nationalist, journalist, social worker, lawyer, statesman, educationist and learned scholar of ancient Indian culture, Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya stands as a colossal figure in the history of the nation. He represented a unique amalgamation of the ancient and the modern, of the Eastern and the Western cultures. He was a true sage in his beliefs and his profound religious attitude steered his actions but he was open to modern ideas. His keenness to promote the scientific and technological studies and his words & actions show how he had absorbed the best of civilizations. His remarkable contribution to the freedom struggle made him one of the prominent leaders of the nation. Amongst the many of his great achievements, Banaras Hindu University stands as the living testimony of Mahamana’s life and vision. In recognition of his service to the nation, Mahamana has been conferred with the highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna posthumously by the Government of India in the year 2014.
- Malaviya was a firm believer in the plurality of India. During his Presidential address in the Lahore session of Congress in 1909, he said -“I have faith in the future of my country. I have no doubt that the policy of the preferential treatment of one community over another and all other obstacles which keep the great communities of India from acting together, will slowly but steadily disappear, and that under the guidance of the benign Providence feelings of patriotism and brotherliness will continue to increase among Hindus, Mohemmedans, Christians and Parsees, until they shall flow like a smooth but mighty river welding the people of all communities into a great and united nation, which shall realize a glorious future for India and secure to it a place of honor among the nations of the world.”
