- Mere fulfilling of minimum qualification will not confer any right in a candidate for being called for Interview. If large number of applications are received, the Screening Committee will adopt it own criteria for shortlisinq the applications and preference will be given to the candidates having qualification and experience over and above advertised qualification/experience.
- The shortlisted candidates will be invited for online interview, information for which will be communicated through CSIR-IIP website and on registered Email ID of the candidates. Therefore, candidates are advised to visit CSIR-IIP website regularly for updates.
- Engagement will initially be for a period of Six Months/One Year depending upon the project requirement, which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the Project/desired level performance or conduct of the incumbent, as the case may be.
- Tenure of engagement of the Project Staff shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances the tenure would be allowed to exceed five years duration. The performance of the Project Staff would be reviewed periodically so that any one not found up to the mark. could be terminated without assigning any reason.
- All these positions are temporary and are on behalf of the sponsors and, therefore, will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim, implicit or explicit for absorption on any post in CSIR-IIP/CSIR.
- On completion of the tenure in one project, in case. one wants to apply for engagement in another project. he/she will have to go through the process of selection by submitting a fresh application under the new project. Engagement of the Project Staff under the new project would be made only after submission of resignation and No Demand Certificate” in the previous project.
- Whereever possible accommodation will be provided to project staff, if accommodation is not possible, HRA will be paid as per rules. If accommodation is provided, the licence fee would be deducted as per CSIR rules.
- The Project Staff shall be permitted to avail leave and dispensary facility for self only, as per rules.
- The Institute provides canteen facilities as is being provided for regular staff members on payment of suitable charges.
- Experience, where required, will be calculated from the date of acquiring minimum educational qualification.
- Final semester and results awaited candidates are not eligible for above mentioned positions.
- TA/DA will not be paid for reporting to duty after selection.
- Number of positions may vary depending upon the Project requirements.
- The remuneration/stipend will be governed in accordance with the extant CSIR instructions applicable from time to time.
- The panel of Project Staff may be prepared for future requirements, if any. or for up-coming projects.
- Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification for the positions.

- The Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP), established in 1960, is one of the constituent laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), dedicated to R&D in the hydrocarbon sector.
- The Director General of CSIR based in Delhi, Shekhar Mande,[5] is the head of institute followed by Dr. Anjan Ray, who has been the Director of the institute since November 2016.
- Spread over a campus of 257-acre (1.04 km2), it is situated in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand state, on National Highway 72 (NH 72). Established through an act of parliament in the year 1959, it started in New Delhi in 1960 and finally in Dehradun since 1963. It sought organisational help from Institut français du pétrole (IFP), France, a petroleum research organisation, under UNESCO programme during 1960 to 1964.
- An ISO 9001 certified institute, IIP develops processes and products for petroleum refining and petrochemical industries, training of personnel in oil and petrochemical industries, and assisting in formulation of standards for petroleum products. The institute acquired the ISO 9001 certification in 1998.
- About 132 of its research staff are R&D scientists supported by 208 technical personnel. It is equipped with R&D facilities including pilot plants. The annual budget of the institute is around 25 crores. The institute is recognized by over 14 universities to conduct research leading to Doctorate degree.
- The Institute’s research, development and deployment activities are carried out through a highly empowered organization structured into ten divisions. Our state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary laboratories, with 350+ permanent staff and 100+ research students, project staff and post-doctoral fellows, delivers excellence in both industrial and scientific research in line with our mandate.
