General Conditions:
- The candidates are required to download the prescribed format along with summary sheet from the Institute Website www.nitpy.ac.in. Application received incomplete in any manner will be summarily rejected without any further correspondence.
- A non refundable application fees of Rs. 500/- for General / OBC / PWD / EWS candidates & Rs. 250/- for SC / ST candidates be paid directly through SB Collect https://www.onlinesbi.com/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm. The self-attested copy of the payment proof to be attached failing which the application is rejected.
- If a candidate is applying for more than one post, separate application forms along with application fee are to be submitted for each post separately and should be sent by separate envelopes for each post failing which the application will be rejected.
- The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of submitted information, other documents and photograph.
- Furnishing of any false information and/or suppression/concealment of facts shall lead to rejection/cancellation of selection/recruitment of the said candidate.
- Reservation and Age relaxation in different categories as per Govt. of India guidelines shall be applicable.

- The age limit and qualification/experience etc. for the post as on the last date of submission of application form (i.e., 01.08.2019) shall be the eligibility criteria.
- The candidates seeking benefit of reservation under OBC category should produce the OBC –NCL certificate issued on or after 01.04.2019 from the concerned authority as per the format prescribed for Central Government only (format attached), failing which the candidate will be considered under Unreserved category.
- The candidates seeking benefit of reservation under EWS category should produce an Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the prescribed format enclosed only for the financial year 2018-19, issued on or after 01.04.2019 failing which, the candidate will be considered under UR category.
- Candidates employed in Govt./Semi Govt./ any Organization should send their application through proper channel. In case, the original application routed through proper channel is likely to be delayed then advance application complete in all aspects, except the forwarding, with an undertaking form to be submitted by the candidates within the last date. NOC should be submitted by the candidates during the interview for further consideration; in event of failure of producing the NOC original from the present employer, the application will be rejected without any further correspondence.
- The decision of the selection Committee will be final in the matter of selection.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending all the stages of the Selection process.

- National Institute of Technology, Puducherry (NITPY) situated in 258 acres near village Poovam in Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal, is one of the thirty one National Institutes of Technology. NIT Puducherry was sanctioned by the Government of India in 2009, as part of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007–2012).
- The NITs were carved out of Regional Engineering Colleges across India and are now the fully funded institutions under the Central Government with Deemed to be University status. The move was intended to make the institutions centers of excellence and being developed as autonomous and flexible academic institutions of excellence to meet the sweeping changes taking place in the industrial environment in post liberalized India and also the rapidly changing scene of technical education globally. NIT Puducherry is one among the 31 NITs and its basic structure of organisation, functions and powers of the Institute are briefed in the `MOA of the Institute. A large number of rules, regulations, ordinances, policy decisions etc. have been formulated by the Board of Governors, Senate and other authorities of the Institute for regulating the day-to-day work of the expanded activities of the Institute.
- B.Tech Students are admitted to the Institute based on the marks obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE – Mains). From the total number of seats available during the admission process, 50% of seats are reserved for the Home-State candidates (Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, Yanam, and Andaman Nicobar). The remaining 50% seats are filled on all India quota basis. M.Tech Students are admitted to the Institute based on the marks obtained in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Ph.D. Students are admitted to the institute based on the Institute entrance test and interview.
