General Instructions:
- The posts are purely temporary but are likely to continue. Present place of posting is likely to be in Andhra Pradesh/Karnataka State and the person recruited will be transferred to any of the existing Tobacco Board’s offices or likely to be opened in India.
- The qualifications prescribed are minimum and possessing higher / additional qualification does not entitle the candidate to be called for test. The Tobacco Board has the right to fix criteria for screening the applications.
- In view of the large number of applications, scrutiny of the eligibility category etc., will not be undertaken at the time of on line examination. Therefore, the application will be accepted provisionally only. The candidates are advised to go through the requirement of educational qualification, age etc., and satisfy themselves that they are eligible, before applying. Copies of supporting documents will be sought only from those candidates who are offered the post and they will be verified with the original documents. Candidature will be cancelled if any information or claim is not found substantiated when the scrutiny of documents is undertaken by the Board. Board’s decision shall be final in this regard.
- Candidates employed in Government/Public Sector undertakings /Autonomous bodies must apply through proper channel and candidates claiming age relaxation should produce a certificate in the prescribed format from their office at the time of document verification in respect of the length of continuous service which should be for not less than three years during the period immediately preceding the closing date for receipt of application. They should remain in the service till the time of appointment in the event of their selection.
- Candidates seeking reservation benefits for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Persons with Disabilities (PWD)/Meritorious Sportspersons and Tobacco Board Departmental candidates must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the notice. They should also be in possession of the required certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim as stipulated in this Notice. The Scheduled Caste certificate issued by the following authorities in the form as prescribed in M H.A.O H No.42/21/49-N.G.S, dated 28/01/1952, as revised in Department of Personnel & A.R letter No.36012/6/76-Estt(S.C.T), dt. 29/10/1977 and OBC candidates should ensure that they are in possession of valid OBC Certificate issued within the due date issued by the authority mentioned in the prescribed format. In case of candidates seeking reservation benefits for Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs ), the income and assets of the families as mentioned in para 2 of OM No.36039/1/2019-Estt. (Res.) dated:19/01/2019 of Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training would be required to be certified by an Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar in the States/UTs. In case of reservation for Persons With Disabilities (PWD) would have to submit a Disability certificate issued by a Competent Authority in the format given in G.I., Dept.of Per.& Trg., OM. No.36035/3/2004-Estt.(Res.), dated:29.12.2005 will only be accepted.
- District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate / Collector/ Deputy Commissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner / Deputy Collector / 1st class Stipendiary Magistrate / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistate/ Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner.
- Chief Presidency Magistrate / Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate.
- Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and / or his family normally resides.
- Candidates with disability of 40% and more will be considered wherever such reservation is available.
- Traveling Allowance: The candidates belonging to SC/ST who are not already in the service of the Central / State Governments/Autonomous bodies/PSU etc., are eligible to get T.A. as per rules.
- The candidates selected for the posts will be governed by New Pension Rules, which came into force with effect from 01/01/2004 mutatis mutandis and modified from time to time.
- No correspondence will be entertained from the candidates in connection with the process of selection/appointment. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.
- The Competent Authority reserves the right to enhance or reduce the posts and right to cancel the recruitment process at any stage without assigning the reasons thereof.

- Recognizing the need to regulate production, promote overseas marketing and control recurring instances of imbalances in supply and demand, which lead to market problems, the Government of India under the Tobacco Board Act of 1975, established the Tobacco Board, in place of the Tobacco Export Promotion Council. The Board came into existence from 1-1-1976 and opened its head quarters at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, India.
- Regulating the production and curing of Virginia Tobacco with regard to the demand in India and abroad.
- Constant monitoring of the Virginia tobacco market, both in India and abroad and ensuring fair and remunerative price to the growers and reducing wide fluctuations in the prices of the commodity.
- Sustaining and improving the existing international markets and developing new markets overseas for Indian Virginia Tobacco and its products and devising marketing strategies in consonance with demand for the commodity including group marketing under limited brand names.
- Establishing auction platforms for sale of Virginia tobacco by registered growers and functioning as an auctioneer at auction platforms either established by it or registered with it.
