General Conditions:
- The terms and conditions governing the service shall be as per the University Statutes with amendments from time to time.
- Candidates must enter the relevant API score in the 3Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma. Each API score must be supported by the documentary evidence, without which no claim on account of API Score will be entertained. It is mandatory that the candidate mark Page No./s on all the supporting documents as in the Application Form. The details with regard to ISSN/ISBN, sole author/Coauthors/Joint publication, refereed/nonrefereed/ indexed/ non-indexed and local/ national/ international status/ impact factor etc. must also be reflected in the publication part of PBAS proforma supported by documentary evidence. In case the candidate remains silent on any information, it shall be deemed that he / she does not want to claim it.
- The time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil and /or Ph.D degree shall not be considered as teaching / research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions. Further the period of active service spent on pursuing Research Degree simultaneously with teaching assignment without taking any kind of leave, shall be counted as teaching experience for the purpose of direct recruitment. The certificate to this effect issued by the Registrar of the Concerned University shall have to be attached by the candidate to claim for such experience.
- Non NET/SLET/SET candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professor are required to submit a certificate from the concerned University to the effect that the Ph.D degree obtained by him/her is in compliance with the UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for awards of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulation 2009 as per prescribed format (Annexure A and AnnexureB). In case of failure to submit the said certificate and having not qualified NET/SLET/SET,they shall be declared ineligible for the post.
- The candidates applying for the post of Assistant Professor who were enrolled for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009 will be governed by the 4thAmendment, UGC Regulations 2016, which is as under:“Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for M.Phil/Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009,shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:- (a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only; (b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners; (c) Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
(d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal; (e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D. work. - Candidates who have been awarded post graduate/Ph.D degree from Foreign University should enclose Equivalence Certificate” issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi without which their candidature will not be considered and application form will be rejected.
- Candidates are required to apply online through University website www.islamicuniversity.edu.in. No other means/ mode of application will be accepted. The non – refundable fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) shall have to be deposited as application fee through online mode by debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
- NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
- The candidates in employment (Govt. or Semi Govt. )on substantive position or otherwise should forward their applications through their employer.
- Hard copy of application form complete in all respects duly supported by attested copies of all relevant documents, certificates and testimonials is mandatory to be submitted in the office of Registrar by or before the last date of submission of hardcopies of the application forms, failing which the online application form submitted by the candidates shall not be considered. Applications received after the expiry of the due date will not be entertained.
- Candidates (in addition to all publications) shall separately enclose & rate their best three publications for the post of Assistant Professor, five best publications for the post of Associate Professor and 10 best publications for the post of Professor, for evaluation and consideration by the Selection Committee.
- Eligible candidates will be informed about the date and place of interview through University website / e-mail/ whichever suitable. However, University does not take any responsibility for non receipt or delayed receipt of the intimation by a candidate.
- All relevant information /updates shall be uploaded on University website www.islamicuniversity.edu.in. The Candidates are advised to remain in touch with University website and notifying the same in newspapers shall not be obligatory on University part.
- Candidates will have to produce original documents relating to their qualification, experience etc. at the time of appearing in the interview.

- The Islamic University of Science & Technology is a government university located at Awantipora, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The university has been set up as a centre for higher learning for the people of the Jammu and Kashmir State and its neighbouring regions. Islamic University of Science and Technology is recognised by the UGC and AICTE and is a member of AIU.
- The Islamic University of Science and Technology was promulgated by an act of Jammu and Kashmir State Legislative Assembly in November 2005. Islamic University is located 28 km away from the summer capital of the state, Srinagar. The almond grove surrounded campus has the Himalayan mountain range to one side of it and Jehlum River flowing to the other.
- The Chancellor of the university is the Chief Minister, of the State, and its Board is the Board of Directors of the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Wakf Board. The Executive Council, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, is the executive authority of the university. The strong science and technology curriculum will be complemented by a School of Humanities and Social Sciences. The university focuses on career development and overall personality enhancement and tries to ensure education for leadership.
- There are six undergraduate and three post graduate courses offered under this school. The undergraduate courses are B. Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B. Tech Food Technology, B. Tech Electronics Communication and Engineering, B. Tech Electrical Engineering, B. Tech Civil Engineering and B. Tech Mechanical Engineering. The post graduate programs offered are Masters in Computer Applications, M.Sc. IT and M. Sc. Food Technology.
- There is one post graduate and one undergraduate programme. At the undergraduate level it is Bachelors in Business Administration (B.B.A.) and at the post graduation level Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.).
- The School of Sciences is the fourth, and the most recent, school of studies instituted at Islamic University. In keeping with the university’s mandate for science and technology education, the school will facilitate the study of natural sciences and promote scientific research and innovation in all areas of natural sciences. The school houses the Department of Mathematics and Mantaqi Center for Science and Society. On the one hand, the school offers a mathematics program geared for today’s competitive job market; on the other, it makes a distinctive contribution towards understanding scientific progress and its impact within a wider social, political and historical surrounding.
- The school will, in the near future, incorporate degree programs in other natural science disciplines.
