General Information:
- Applications are invited from Indian Nationals eligible for engagement to the following temporary consultant position on contract basis at Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC),Kozhikode established to serve as resource centre in disability rehabilitation for all categories. These positions will be filled up on contractual basis for a period of 11 months
- The application form strictly as per the prescribed format given in NIEPMD / CRC-K website shall be downloaded and submitted neatly filled up either typed or handwritten and containing the complete details attached with certified copies of proof of age, caste, qualification etc., and a latest passport size photo affixed on the application form.
- This engagement will be purely temporary and only for a period of 11 months and the engagement will cease after the 11th month without any notice.
- The incumbent will be paid a consolidated honorarium only. No other allowances such as DA/ HRA/MA/ GPF/ NPS and other allowance will be admissible.
- The incumbent will have NO RIGHT to claim for any regularization or extension/ renewal of engagement in any circumstances.

- National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD) is an Indian government agency providing services to persons with multiple disabilities. It was established by Government of India under the aegis of the Department of Disability Affairs within the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at Chennai. It runs HRD programs to train rehabilitation professionals. The institute provides services such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychological intervention, vocational training, and special education. The institute is the first of its kind in Asia dedicated exclusively to persons with multiple disabilities.
- When a child has several different disabilities we say, that he/she has multiple disabilities. For example, a child may have difficulties in learning, along with controlling her movements and/or with hearing and vision. The effect of multiple disability can be more than the combination of two individual disabilities.
- A child who is multiple disabled should receive help as early as possible so that she can be helped to achieve her potential, and so that her disabilities will not become worse.
- National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) established in the year 2005, on East Coast Road, Muttukadu, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, (about 30 km from Chennai Central railway station, Mofussil bus terminus and airport) Under Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, to serve as a national resource center for empowerment of persons with Multiple Disabilities such as those with two or more disabilities in a person. The Disabilities enumerated as per RPWD Act (2016) are Blindness, Low-vision, Leprosy Cured persons, Hearing Impairment (deaf and hard of hearing), Locomotor Disability, Dwarfism, Intellectual Disability, Mental Illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Chronic Neurological conditions, Specific Learning Disabilities, Multiple Sclerosis, Speech and Language disability, Thalassemia, Hemophilia, Sickle Cell disease, Multiple Disabilities including deafblindness, Acid Attack victim, Parkinson’s disease and as per The National Trust (1999) Act, are Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities.
- To undertake development of human resources for management, training rehabilitation, education, employment and social development of persons with Multiple Disabilities.
- To promote and conduct research in all areas relating to Multiple Disabilities
- To develop Transdisciplinary models and strategies for social rehabilitation and to meet the needs of diverse groups of people with Multiple Disabilities.
- To undertake services and out reach programs for the persons with Multiple Disabilities.
- The Persons with Multiple Disabilities have equal rights to lead a better quality of life. This may be enabled with committed professionalism, accessible environment, equal opportunities, positive attitudes and appropriate, affordable, acceptable and available technological interventions.
- To provide need based comprehensive rehabilitation through team approach facilitating inclusion, ensuring empowerment of persons with Multiple Disabilities and their families and by substantiating field based research and development of human resources.
- Promoting quality of life for persons with Multiple Disabilities through equal participation of clients, families, professionals and community agencies.
