General Information:
- ICMR-RMRIMS, Patna conducts walk-in interview for the following post on purely contractual basis specifically for COVID-19 testing initially for 6 (Six) months.
- The interested candidates may turn up for walk-in-interview alongwith their duly signed application form mentioning personal details (1) Name (2) Father’s Name (3) Date of Birth (4) Details of Qualification (5) Work Experience (6) Present Address for Communication etc. with a passport size photograph alongwith copies of all relevant documents at the time of walk-in-interview. Candidates have also to bring all the above mentioned documents in original for necessary verification during the walk-in-interview. Walk-in-Interview is scheduled to be held on dated 02/12/2020 at 10:00 AM at ICMR-RMRIMS, Agamkuan, Patna – 800 007 (Bihar).
- The candidates will have to report for interview on dated 02/12/2020 latest up to 10:00 AM.
- If the number of applicant will exceed more than ten written exam may be conducted if required.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Age relaxation: Age relaxation to the candidates having essential qualification may be given up to maximum 5 years that includes a) 5 years for SC/ST candidate, b) 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy) candidates, and c) length of laboratory experience in ICMR Institute/Centre or any other recognized Institutions.
- The out-stationed candidates intimating their inability to visit the Institute may be interviewed through VideoConferencing (VC). VC credentials will be sent through email only well in time.
- Such candidates should send their CV to (ao-rmrip@icmr.gov.in) with subject of email as “OUT-STATION CANDIDATE”. Failing which, the application cannot be considered.
- The appointment will be purely on temporary basis (on contractual basis) initially for 06 (six) months that may be further extended subject to requirement and performance evaluation of the candidate. The candidate will not have any right of regular employment in due course.
- Candidates will have no claim in future for employment under the Institute/ICMR services.
- During the appointment, if performance of the appointee is not found satisfactory by the competent authority, the appointment can be terminated any time without any notice.
- Decision of the Director/DIC, ICMR-RMRIMS, Agamkuan, Patna shall be final.

- The Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS), which is located at Agam Kuan, Patna, Bihar, India is a permanent research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi and an autonomous body of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
- It is located at Agamkuan in the eastern part of the city of Patna. It has an area of nine acres.
- Its main thrust is research in different aspects of Visceral leishmaniasis also known as kala-azar, black fever and Dumdum fever.
- It is named after the memory of the first president of Republic of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. After the demise of Dr. Prasad due to chest disease in Bihar, an institute in the memory of his name focus on chest diseases was established. Thus, the RMRIMS was established on 3 December 1963.
- In October 2008, RMRIMS entered into an agreement with the prestigious University of Calcutta, whereby, doctoral candidates of RMRIMS would be supervised by Calcutta University faculty. The institute has been accorded affiliation by Calcutta University for Ph.D and other academic activities.
- Rajendra Memorial Research Institute of Medical Sciences (RMRIMS), Patna was established in the memory of the First President of Republic of India Deshratna Dr. Rajendra Prasad in the year 1963 with Asthma as its mandate. It was taken over by Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi on 1st April, 1984 under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and thereafter the main thrust area is Visceral Leishmaniasis (Kala-azar).
- This Institute has well equipped departments viz. Clinical medicine with OPD and 50-bedded Indoor facility, Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular biology, Epidemiology, Animal house, Social science, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics and Library. Some of the modern equipment are: Fully automated clinical chemistry analyzer, semi-auto analyzer, Flow cytometer, PCR, Gel-documentation system, Microarray, DNA sequencer, RT-PCR, 2D gel electrophoresis system, HPLC, FPLC, Cell–counter, Ion-selective analyzer etc besides the other routine instruments for the research purpose.
- Our modern library and information system is featured with online bibliographic access through various online database search tools like ProQuest, ERMSS, J-Gate, JCCC etc. We also have guest house as well as International hostel to provide accommodation to our guests and scholars.
- The institute is well recognized by the national and International agencies viz. World Health Organization (WHO/TDR), Institute for OneWorld Health, GlaxoSmithKline, DNDi, MSF, Bharat Serum and Vaccine Ltd. for clinical drug trials. We have collaborated with Department of Biotechnology, European Commission, WHO/TDR etc. for advance basic and epidemiological research. The institute has been identified by WHO as reference centre for Leishmania parasite and Sera Bank; and we serve as one of the WHO centers for RDT evaluation networking.
