General Information:
- Appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the research project. Leaving of position will be done after one month of accepting resignation letter from candidate or on mutual understanding basis.
- The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment / absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Mohali.
- Appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project.
- The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
- The prescribed educational qualifications are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitled candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it will not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader/ Principal
Investigator may restrict the number of candidates to be called for the interview to a reasonable limit after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying. - No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.
- Selected candidates will have to join duty at the earliest on receipt of the offer Letter.
- No interim enquiries / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.
- MSc(Physics)/M.Tech/ME(Engineering), Engineering Physics, Instrumentation, Applied Physics, Electrical and Communication Engineering (all optics). Prior work experience/hands-on training in optics, instrumentation, sensors, coating, optical fiber, optical tweezer, coding, modelling ultrasound propagation etc is desirable but not mandatory.
- Initially for 6 months and extendable for another few months under terms and condition set by PI

Vacancy Notice 04 Intern Vacancy – IISER,Punjab
- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali (IISER Mohali) is an autonomous public research university established in 2007 at Mohali, Punjab, India. It is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), established by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, to research in frontier areas of science and to provide science education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. It was established after IISER Pune and IISER Kolkata and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.
- Admission is done through 3 channels. 1. KVPY channel 2. JEE Main/Advance Channel 3. SCB Channel
- Students applying through SCB have to be in the top 1 percentile scorers of their respective board examination (+2 level). After qualifying this Eligibility, students have to appear for Common IISER Aptitude Test, through the score of this test, students are allotted their preferred IISER.
- The institute was approved by The Planning Commission in New Delhi in July 2006 and land was provided by The Punjab State government.The foundation stone of IISER Mohali was laid on 27 September 2006 by the former Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh.The Computing Facility of IISER Mohali was inaugurated on 3 September 2007 by T. Ramasami (Secretary, Department of Science and Technology).The Earth-breaking ceremony for IISER boundary wall was held on 29 December 2008 at the proposed campus site in Knowledge City, Sector 81, S.A.S. Nagar. The ceremony was performed by N. Sathyamurthy, the founding director of the institute.
- C.N.R. Rao inaugurated the Chemistry Research Laboratory on 8 April 2009. The Central Analytical Facility of IISER Mohali has been inaugurated in March 2010. Initially, the institute started its working from a transit campus in Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Chandigarh. In March 2010, the institute started shifting to its permanent campus in The Knowledge City at Sector 81 with the opening of Central Analytical Facility (CAF) and completed the shifting in May 2013 by shutting operations in MGSIPAP complex, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
