General Conditions
- The University hereby informs that the last date to apply for the posts of Associate Professor in the Department of Ship Technology, notified vide Serial Numbers 16 to 21 of the Vacancy Notification referred above stands extended as detailed below:-

Last Date for submission of hard copy of the application – 10.02.20 - The appointment against the above vacancies will be made as per UGC/ AICTE Regulations and Reservation Principles according to Cochin University of Science and Technology Act, 1986 and Statutes thereunder and as per the provisions in the Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1958, and Kerala Service rules, as amended from time to time.
- The natives of States other than Kerala shall not apply for the posts notified exclusively under community reservation quota (SC/ST/Other Backward
Communities/EWS/Differently abled) as per the provisions in the Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules, 1958, as amended from time to time - Only persons having minimum 40% disability shall be eligible for reservation / concessions set apart for the Persons with Disability (PwD).The Person availing the reservation for Persons with Disabilities shall invariably submit a Disability Certificate issued by a Medical Board duly constituted by the State / Central Government.
- A relaxation of 5% shall be allowed at the Bachelor’s as well as the Master’s Level for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer) / Differently-abled for the purpose of eligibility and assessing good academic record for direct recruitment. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading System is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based only on qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedure. A relaxation of 5% shall be provided (from 55% to 50% of the marks) to the Ph.D Degree holders who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to
19 September, 1991. - Any corrigendum/addendum shall be posted only on the University website.
- The applicants should possess the minimum qualifications as on the last date for submission of application (online), failing which the application will summarily be rejected.
- Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the credentials as on the last date of application (online submission). Publications, conference etc after the last date will not be considered in any case.

- Applications to the above posts have to be submitted online in the prescribed application form available in the University Website: www.cusat.ac.in/faculty.cusat.ac.in.
- Separate applications with prescribed fees, should be submitted for each post having separate serial number.
- Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities outside Kerala shall attach the Recognition Certificate issued by Cochin University of Science & Technology along with their application. If they are not able to submit the same along with online/hard copy of the application form, they shall attach the copy of the fee receipt of the same as proof. How ever, they shall produce the same at the time of interview.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from Universities abroad can submit Equivalency Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities, AIYU House, 16 Comrade Indrajit Gupta Marg, New Delhi – 2 (Equivalence Division).
- Candidates should apply online on or before 18.01.2021.
- Candidates shall compulsorily submit Part A and Part B of the application form (Online).
- One signed hard copy of the filled up online applications (Part A & Part B) along with Registration Fee and copies of documents to prove age, valid community certificate (for SC/ST) / Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC), EWS Certificate (as per Government of Kerala norms for EWS candidates) qualifications, marklists, percentage of marks, experience, copies / reprints of publication (if any) with proof of impact factor etc. should
reach “The Registrar, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi – 682 022” before 5.00 PM on 25.01.2021. Candidates who have applied online but failed to submit the hard copies of the application in time will not be considered for selection. - Candidates who are employed on regular basis in Government/Quasi Government/State/Central Autonomous Organization should forward their applications through proper channel with No Objection Certificate. However they can send an advance copy to the Registrar directly.
- Late, Defective and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.

- Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a government-owned autonomous science and technology university in Kochi, Kerala, India. It was founded in 1971 and has two campuses: one in Kochi, and one in Kuttanad, Alappuzha, 66 km (41 mi) inland. The university awards degrees in engineering and science at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. In the 2016-17 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, CUSAT is the only institution in Kerala, is one among the 31 institutions in the country to be ranked in the global survey.
- The university was founded in 1971 as the University of Cochin through an act of the Kerala Legislature, which was the result of a campaign for postgraduate education in the state. It was renamed as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986. Its goals are to promote undergraduate and postgraduate studies and advanced research in applied science, technology, industry, commerce, management and social sciences.
- Admissions to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are based on the Common Admission Test (CAT). Departmental Admission Tests (DAT) are conducted for some postgraduate courses. As of 2019, the university has 29 Departments of study and research, offering graduate and post-graduate programmes across a wide spectrum of disciplines in Engineering, Science, Technology, Humanities, Law & Management. The University has academic links and exchange programmes with several institutions across the globe.
- A new species of amphipod collected from the Cochin backwaters was named Victoriopisa cusatensis after the university in 2018.
- The motto of the university is Tejasvinavadhithamastu, which is taken from the Vedas and conveys “May the wisdom accrued deify us both – the teacher and the taught – and percolate to the universe in its totality”.
- CUSAT was ranked in the 1001+ category by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2020 and in the 401+ category for Asia,.The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 62 among universities in India in 2020.
- The university has three campuses: two are in Kochi, and one is at Pulinkunnu, Kuttanad, Alappuzha about 65 km south of Kochi in the state of Kerala.
- The main campus is 1.5 km (0.93 mi) off the National Highway 47 in South Kalamassery. The 180-acre (0.73 km2) campus includes the School of Engineering (SOE Campus), Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering, School of Management Studies, and the School of Legal Studies.
