General Conditions:
- These posts are on a regular basis.
- Candidates who submitted their applications either for Scientist-F, D, or B, against advertisement ISR/CoreGroup/2018-19/02 need not apply again. Their applications will be considered for the current
advertisement also. - The age limit of the candidates applying against the current advertisement will be based on the closing date of the receipt of applications (18/11/2019)
- The candidate who had earlier applied in the General category and now eligible to apply in the EWS category needs to submit a fresh application.
- The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for the interview.
- The required degree indicated above should have been obtained from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes recognized by the Government, deemed to be a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
- The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in Gujarat and outside.
- The experience certificate is to be submitted with the application. Experience after completion of the essential academic qualifications will be counted. An application without Experience certificate will be rejected.
- The upper age limit may be relaxed up to five years in favour of a candidate who is already in regular service of State Government or Central Government or Government Undertaking Board/ Corporation/ Autonomous Institutes of Central or State Government or Local Bodies of the State or the Statutory Organizations.
- The candidates must possess basic knowledge of Computer Application.
- Have adequate knowledge of Gujarati/Hindi and English.
- Preference will be given to the candidates who have a post graduate degree in Geophysics.
- The selected candidates will be kept on probation for a period of two years for Scientist-B & D and one year for Scientist-F.
- Government of Gujarat rules of reservations for Women, PH, EWS, SC, ST and SEBC, will be followed.
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SEBC/EWS category should attach the relevant certificate with the application. If a candidate does not attach the certificate, the application will be treated in the general category.
- The candidates working in Government Departments/Public Sector Organizations and Govt. funded research agencies will be considered only if the application is forwarded through proper channel (advance copy of application should reach before the last date) with a clear certificate that no vigilance case is pending/contemplated against him/her and the applicant will be relieved immediately/within one month of receipt of appointment order.
- Applications not accompanied by relevant attested copies of certificates including semester wise/year wise Memorandum of Marks sheet(s) will be summarily rejected.
- Incomplete and unsigned applications as well as those received after the last date will not be considered.
- For the reserved category, the rules of reservation of Government of Gujarat will be followed. The upper age limit may be relaxed up to five years for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS and women candidates, as per the Govt. of Gujarat norms in force.
- Mere fulfillment of the essential educational qualifications and experience will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for interview. The applications will be short-listed based on academic track record and experience and if necessary, written test will be conducted. The decision of ISR will be final.
- Canvassing in any form, and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as disqualification for the post.
- Short listed candidates called for interview will be paid travel allowance limited to sleeper class railway journey from place of residence to Gandhinagar by shortest route, after receipt of a copy of the ticket/PNR number.
- Interim enquiries will not be entertained.

- Applications should be neatly typed on thick plain A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm) in the prescribed format given in ISR website.
- A self-addressed post-card with requisite stamp should be sent along with the completed application. Candidates should indicate in this card the Advertisement number and name of the post applied for. The applications will be acknowledged by the institute by returning this card to the candidates after indicating the Registration number allotted to them. Candidates may note that no separate acknowledgement other than this card will be sent to them.

- Copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, Community (in case of SC/ST/SEBC/EWS candidates only) and experience should be attached with the application. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates during the time of interview.

About Us:
- The Institute of Seismological Research (ISR) has been established by the Science and Technology Department, Government of Gujarat vide Government Resolution No. ISR-2003-687-DST dated August 27, 2003. The ISR has been registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act. The Governing Council of the Society is chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Gujarat State. The ISR is unique in India being the only institute fully dedicated to Earthquake Studies.

- Shallow surface investigations for resource exploration.
- Earthquake precursory research through multi-parametric geophysical observations.
