General Condition:
- Applications are invited in the prescribed format (along with copies of educational qualifications and experience) from eligible candidates for the following positions in the School of Computer and Information Sciences under the “Institution of Eminence” project granted to the University of
Hyderabad by the Government of India and MHRD Notification No. F11/9/2019-U3(A) and IoE Manpower Financial Support under Major Head OH-31 (sanction order UoH-IOE/Manpower/21/18 from Director IOE dated 08-03-2021). - Knowledge of application development and debugging in Java/Python/C/CPP. Knowledge of basic software engineering practices, web application development such as CSS, Javascript and databases such as SQL and MySQL etc.
- The candidate should have passion for research and coding applications. Knowledge of any such as MATLAB, SciLearnkit, Python framework, R, Java Development, UI development.
- Working in the Research labs, as per shift working hours and overseeing the maintenance and operations of lab activities. Additional tasks and duties will be assigned from time to time, at the discretion of the lab in-charges/supervisors as and when it is required. The candidate should be ready to learn/acquire the desired skills based on the requirements.
- In addition to the knowledge, skills, and description of work mentioned in position no.2, candidates should be strong in system administration and systems hardware/software security and other hands-on skills. Patching and updating of Windows and Linux operating systems for servers and desktop devices. Able to install new applications for use remotely as per requirements for teaching and training. Able to cope with disk failures, power issues, security and network situations, job monitoring, server performance monitoring, new driver and other hardware issues with all system administration tasks like user management etc.
- Knowledge of NIS/NFS/storage devices remote mounting and backups. Installation and maintenance of Learning Management Systems (LMS) (Moodle) and taking backups. Establishing the OpenVPN connections, and single Sign-on applications, setup of virtual infrastructures, setup and maintenance of Wireless infrastructures.
- Additional tasks and duties will be assigned from time to time, at the discretion of the lab incharges/supervisors as and when it is required. The candidate should be ready to learn/acquire the desired skills based on the requirements.
- A candidate would have sufficient experience in all aspects of software development,system administration, facility management, managing of reportees. People and project management is very much required. Suitable candidates should be well motivated to oversee smooth operations, and that services are maintained without hitch and latest technologies and solutions are adapted. Should take up responsibilities from policy
frameworks to implementation. Conducting training programs with the latest technologies based on the requirement. - Additional tasks and duties will be assigned from time to time, at the discretion of the lab incharges/supervisors as and when it is required. The candidate should be ready to learn/acquire the desired skills based on the requirements.
- All appointments are made for one year and can be extendible after a performance review.

- The University of Hyderabad is a public research university located in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
- Founded in 1974, this mostly residential campus has more than 5,000 students and 400 faculty, from several disciplines.The governor of the state of Telangana is ex-officio the chief rector of the university, while the President of India is the visitor to the university.
- The university was established along the lines of the Six-Point Formula of 1973. The first vice-chancellor of the university was Banaras Hindu University organic chemist Gurbaksh Singh, from 1974 to 1979. Shri B D Jatti was the first chancellor of the university.
- In January 2015, the University of Hyderabad received the Visitor’s Award for the Best Central University in India, awarded by the President of India.
- The university is located in Gachibowli, on 2300-odd acres. The campus is rich in flora and fauna, home to over 734 flower plants, ten species of mammals, fifteen species of reptiles,and 220 species of birds.
- The university is recognized as an Institute of Eminence (IoE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC) through the UGC (Declaration of Government Institutions as Institutions of Eminence) Guidelines, 2017 for public institutions.
- The university campus on 2300-odd acres, has a large area under forest cover, with two perennial and three seasonal lakes, as well as rock formations characteristic of the Deccan. It is home to 734 plant,10 mammal, 15 reptile and 220 bird species (at last count). Notable animals include spotted deer, hares, peacocks, porcupines and wild boar. The campus also has a protected megalithic site.
- A study, which ranged over three decades (1990–2010), reported that of the plants present on campus, 315 species were used in traditional Indian medicine. 39 species of plants belong to the group that face the threat of extinction. These listings were the result of field studies done on campus by students and faculty members.
- The university has plans to preserve area under forest cover and wetlands by creating a bio reserve.
