General Condition:

  • Eligible candidates may apply for any of these positions only as per the valid format of the Institute uploaded on the website. Application received through any other mode (offline mode/resume) shall be summarily rejected.
  • The duly signed downloaded copy of the completed application submitted through ONLINE portal must reach “Registrar, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi – 110016” within three weeks from the date of publication of advertisement by courier/speed post or by hand only along with necessary enclosures including application fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC, ST,PWD) (through Demand Draft in original/proof of online submission of application fee) and “No Objection Certificate (NOC)”, wherever applicable. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed “Application for the post of …………”
  • Kindly use separate Application Form for each post.
  • Candidates currently employed in government/semi government organizations/ autonomous bodies will have to submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.
  • Candidates from outside Delhi called for interview shall be paid 2 AC train fare for other posts by shortest route from the address mentioned in the application.
  • Minimum requirements of qualifications and/of experience may be relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding candidate. The Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of positions, to fill up or not to fill up any or all the posts or to shortlist and select the candidates in any suitable position depending upon the qualification and experience required for the said posts.
  • Relaxation in educational qualifications, experience, age, etc. to the reserved category candidates will be permissible as per Government of India rules.
  • Reservation of posts will be done as per Government of India rules.
  • The posts of Registrar and Finance Officer is on tenure/deputation basis, hence, service will not transferred to NIEPA. However, the contribution towards GPF/CPF, GIS etc. will be remitted to the selected candidate’s organization.
  • The services rendered on joining NIEPA after 01.01.2004 by those who are already covered under pension scheme in central universities/colleges and other institutions deemed to be universities under purview of UGC shall be permitted to continue to be governed under CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972 on joining of NIEPA.
  • The services rendered on joining NIEPA after 01.01.2004 by other than that stated at (10) above will be governed under new contributory pension scheme and no conversion shall be allowed.
  • The Institute reserves the right to alter/insert any corrections/additions in the advertisement/website in the event of any typographical error etc. before the last date prescribed for the receipt of online applications, for which the candidates are advised to be in the lookout for announcements in the website: www.niepa.ac.in.
  • The online portal will remain open till 28.12.2019.
  • Those who submitted online applications with reference to earlier advertisement for the post of Registrar appeared in January, 2019 need not apply. However, he/she can update information by sending hard copy.

  • National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration is a research focused university located in New Delhi, India.The Institute was set up by the Ministry of Education (now known as Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India.
  • National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration was established in the year 1962 as UNESCO Asian Centre for Educational Planners, Administrators and Supervisors which later became the Asian Institute of Educational Planning and Administration in 1965, which was later converted into the National Staff College for Educational Planners and Administrators in 1973, which was again rechristened as National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in the year 1979. In 2006, NIEPA was given the status of a Deemed to be University.
  • Department of Educational Planning – It is one of the fundamental divisions of NUEPA. The main function of the department is the integration of inputs, processes and products of planning at all levels. With the increasing emphasis on education as a means of reducing poverty and promoting sustainable development, the Department considers the expanded scope of educational planning not only to cover the institutionalization of strategic planning at the macro level but also promoting decentralization and use of local level planning techniques such as school mapping, micro planning and school improvement planning for improving quality of investment in education.
  • Department of Educational Finance – The function of this department is conduct and promote research on economic and financial aspects of education at all levels. The department focuses its activities like research, teaching and training, around issues relating to public and private financing of education.
  • Department School and Non-Formal Education – This department focuses on critical issues of school education,non formal and adult literacy. Research studies is conducted in various areas to develop and improve school education in India. Besides conducting research and developmental programmes, the department extends support to the state and central government in formulating and implementing plans and policies.
  • Department of Educational Management Information System – To strengthen the database and management system on education in India, the Department undertakes research, capacity building activities and provides technical advice. The Department has also taken the responsibility for strengthening the management information system of secondary education. It has developed an information system, called DISE, to collect and compile detailed information on all schools in the country. District Information System for Education (DISE) is covering unrecognised schools and recognised and unrecognised madrasas since 2010-11. The Department also conducts conferences, seminars, workshops and research with regard to educational management information system.
