General Instruction:
- Applications are invited by the Director, JIPMER from eligible Indian candidates for filling up of posts of JUNIOR RESIDENT (NPG) on 89 days Ad-hoc Basis through walk-in-interview. This Ad-hoc engagement may be extended based on their performance and requirement maximum period upto
one year. - The candidates will be paid B/Pay Rs.56,100/- Level 10, Cell-1 (Revised) per month with other allowances inclusive of NPA as admissible under rules (Total Rs.85,000 Approximately).
- Please visit www.jipmer.edu.in regularly for latest notifications/announcements and any Addendum/Dedendum/Corrigendum/Latest updates etc. as these will be uploaded only on the JIPMER website.
- The mode of payment will be made only through SBI Collect (Online Payment) & No other mode of payment (DD/Cheque/MO/IPO/CRF/Cash etc) will be entertained.
- The candidates are advised not to bring any political or other recommendations to influence their selection. Such candidates will be summarily rejected.
- The posts are purely on (temporary) ad-hoc basis and under no circumstances are linked to regular appointment and cannot be regularized at any stage.
- The appointment will be temporary and subject to termination at one month’s notice and without assigning any reason. If he/she wishes to resign his/her job, he/she has to serve one month’s notice or remit one month’s salary or pay thereof, as the case may be proportionate to the shortfall in the notice period. In this regard decision of the Director will be final.
- The Competent Authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason or giving notice.
- The appointee shall not be entitled to avail any allowances/facilities being extended to the regular/permanent faculty members of the JIPMER, Puducherry-06.
- Eligible and Interested Candidates may attend interview at the given venue and date. All relevant documents of age, qualification and experience etc for the concerned posts must be carried along. Walk-In-Interview will be held on 19-01-2021 (8 AM).
- Candidates do not send any hard copy of any documents or forms to the office. If any claim made by candidates is found to be incorrect, their candidature shall be summarily rejected.
Selection Process:

- A written Examination based on MCQs in the subject concerned will be conducted for eligible candidates followed by personal interview.
- Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their written test marks. List of short listed candidates will be displayed in our notice board on the same day. In this regard, this Institute reserves the right to take the final decision.
- Selection process for the post of Junior Resident (NPG) will include a written examination (85%) and personal interview (15%).
- Interested and Eligible candidates may attend the Written test/Interview to be held at 08.00 A.M on 19-01-2021 (TUESDAY) at JIPMER ACADEMIC CENTRE, JIPMER,PUDUCHERRY along with
i) Filled in application form in the prescribed format (appended)
ii) Original Certificates with one set of Self-attested copy thereof and
iii) Copy of the printout of fees paid through online (No fee is required to be payable by Persons with Disabilities (PwD’s) candidates.
iv) Candidate should bring duly filled in application form (appended) with required documents on the day of written exam only. They need not be required to send such documents by posts/courier/hand to JIPMER.

- The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) is a medical school located at Pondicherry, the capital of the Union Territory of Puducherry, in India. JIPMER is an Institute of National Importance (INI) and a tertiary care referral hospital that is under the direct administrative control of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with autonomy to run its internal administration.
- JIPMER, spread over a campus of 195 acres (0.79 km2), has over 300 faculty members, over 700 resident physicians and over 3,000 nursing, administrative and support staff. Every year, it admits 150 undergraduate students and 200 postgraduate students.[citation needed] The year 2019-20 saw over 24,00,000 outpatient visits, 350,000 inpatient admissions, and 70,000 surgeries performed at JIPMER.
- The erstwhile French India established the Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery to train French citizens in Pondichéry.It was one of the earliest institutions of tropical medicine and the teaching staff consisted of surgeons and doctors of the French navy and troupes colones. Students who were trained here were granted a diploma called Médicin Locale that allowed them to practice medicine in the colonial territories. The college then was located in the heart of the Pondicherry, opposite Le place de Gaulle, which is now the Legislative Assembly Hall.

- The institution was given its current name in honour of India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, as “Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research” (JIPMER), on 13 July 1964, by Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the then President of India.
