General Instruction:
- Candidates have to enrol themselves online in the National Web Portal www.mhrdnats.gov.in by providing required details and uploading the required documents to get User Id & Password.
- For enrolment Candidates should have a valid email id, contact mobile number, Govt. ID (any one of Driving License, Voter ID, Passport or PAN card) , Aadhaar Card, Passport Size photograph (jpeg format less than 200kB), bank account details.
- After successful enrolment, the Candidates will be provided with a student enrolment number.
- Web portal is being operated by MHRD, Government of India. For enquiries regarding the issues related with web portal, the candidates are requested to contact help line numbers mentioned in the web portal. Correspondence with respect to functionality of portal will not be entertained by CMTI.
- Indian Nationals only need to apply.
- The Institute reserves the right to adopt its own method of short-listing criteria to call for Interview and is not obliged to shortlist all the candidates who fulfil the minimum requirement.
- Any amendments/updates and list of the selected candidates will be hosted online in our website www.cmtiindia.net only. Candidates are requested to visit the website for the same regularly.
- No correspondence or enquiries will be entertained from the candidates about the Apprenticeship.
- Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification.
- No TA/DA will be paid to applicants for attending document verification/ selection/ joining process.Candidates will have to make their own arrangement for stay, if required, during this process.
- The selected candidates should be in a position to join the establishment on the prescribed date of joining. ‘If the candidate does not report latest by scheduled date, it is assumed that he/she is not interested in the apprenticeship and his/her candidature will be forfeited.
- Selected Apprentices can join CMTI as Apprentices only after getting approval from the BOAT.
- The selected candidates must execute a contract for the period of training of 1 year as per the Apprenticeship Act. Engaging suitable candidates as Apprentices or the completion of training at CMTI, shall not entitle such candidates/trainees, any right to claim any type of employment in CMTI.
- Mere fulfilment of requirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate to be selected Graduate / Technician (Diploma) Apprentice.
- CMTI shall not be responsible for any application being rejected or candidate not shortlisted due to incorrect data.
- CMTI reserves the right to cancel the advertisement and or the selection process there under. Decision of CMTI Management regarding the selection will be final. Further CMTI Management reserves the full right to fill up or otherwise any or all the notified posts depending on the availability of the candidates in any discipline and also to fill up the vacancies if any.
- If at any stage of training, it is found that the candidate has furnished false/incorrect information or concealed any information, his/her Training shall be cancelled and suitable action will be taken as per extant rules. CMTI reserves the right to Revise/ Reschedule/ Cancel/ Suspend the engagement process, if the need so arises, without assigning any further notice or reason therefore. The decision of the management shall be final and no appeal shall be entertained.
- Interested & eligible Candidates should register their names and bring all their original certificates / mark sheets with a self-attested photo copy of each of it and a recent passport size photograph along with the duly filled Application Form between 9.00 to 9.30 hrs on the following days as listed below, failing which they would not be allowed to appear for the selection process/ interview.

- The establishment of Central Machine Tool Institute at Bengaluru in the 1960’s by the Government of India was a major event in the history of the Indian Machine Tool Industry. The Institute changed its name to Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI) in 1992 in tune with its current role in the manufacturing scenario in which the machine tool has become just a part of the entire gamut of concerns in the productive endeavors of the manufacturing industries.
- The Institute was conceived in 1960, and became functional in the year 1965 under the technical Collaboration with Institute for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (VUOSO), Czech Republic formerly Czechoslovakia. Various types of machine tools numbering about 40 were supplied by the Czechoslovakian government under this tie-up.
