General Conditions:
- Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (OPTCL), is one of the largest state owned power utility in the country, engaged in the business of Transmission of electricity in the State invites application from eligible Graduate Engineers / Diploma Engineers (passed out during 2018 / 2019 / 2020) for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.
- Indian Nationals belonging to the state of Odisha are only eligible to apply.
- Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.
- Guidelines under Apprentices act on Reservation for SC/ST will be followed. Candidates claiming reservation under SC/ST shall provide certificate as per Government standard format, failing which their claim for reservation will be considered as General category. Candidates belonging to SEBC/OBC category will also be considered as General category only.
- As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992 and amendments thereof any.
- The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for period of 01 (One) year as per Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973.
- Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience are not eligible to apply.
- The final selection list would be prepared according to categories i.e. General / SC / ST after conducting certificate verification and personal interview by OPTCL.
- No TA / DA will be paid for attending certificate verification and interview.
- No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible during selection process.
- Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, Odisha Power Transmission
Corporation Ltd. (OPTCL), an undertaking of the Govt. of Odisha, shall have no obligation to offer employment to such apprentices nor can an apprentice claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship Training. - Registered candidates applied for OPTCL on or before 5:30 PM of 05th January 2021 only shall be considered for shortlisting.

- INCOMPLETE / ERRONEOUS / ONLINE APPLICATION RECEIVED AFTER DUE DATE WILL BE REJECTED:
- No further communication in this regard will be entertained.
- Board of Practical training (ER) / OPTCL has not entrusted authorized any individual organization to coordinate (or) liaison our work. Candidates beware of touts and our office / BOPT(ER) is not responsible for such unwanted incident.
- Canvassing / Pressuring through any source will disqualify the candidature and their name will be removed from our official records without prior intimation and this Board will not responsible for such cases.
- At any stage of the selection process, if it is found that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information, then the candidature/engagement of the candidate is liable to be cancelled.
- The decision of Management of OPTCL will be final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the application, mode of selection, cancellation of the selection process either in part or full, etc. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Filling up of the seats is solely at the discretion of the Management of OPTCL based on suitability of candidates and no claim will be entertained, if some of these seats are not filled due to unsuitability / insufficient number of candidates.

About Us:

- Started commercial operation from 01.04.2005 only as a Transmission Licensee. (a deemed Transmission Licensee under Section 14 of Electricity Act, 2003)Notified as the State Transmission Utility (STU) by the State Govt. and discharges the State Load Dispatch functions.
- ODISHA POWER TRANSMISSION CORPORATION LIMITED (OPTCL), one of the largest Transmission Utility in the country was incorporated in March 2004 under the Companies Act, 1956 as a company wholly owned by the Government of Odisha to undertake the business of transmission and wheeling of electricity in the State. The registered office of the Company is situated at Bhubaneswar, the capital of the State of Odisha. Its projects and field units are spread all over the State.
- OPTCL became fully opeartional with effect from 9th June 2005 consequent upon issue of Odisha Electricity Reform (Transfer of Transmission and Related Activities) Scheme, 2005 under the provisions of Electricity Act, 2003 and the Odisha Reforms Act, 1995 by the State Government for transfer and vesting of transmission related activities of GRIDCO with OPTCL. The Company has been designated as the State Transmission Utility in terms of Section 39 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
- Presently the Company is carrying on intra state transmission and wheeling of electricity under a license issued by the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Company is also discharging the functions of State Load Despatch Centre. The Company owns Extra High Voltage Transmission system and operates about 13,578.790 ckt kms of transmission lines at 400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV levels and 143 nos. of substations with transformation capacity of 18,068.50 MVA having 366 nos of transformers.
- The day-to-day affairs of the Company are managed by the Managing Director assisted by whole-time Functional Directors as per the advice of the Board of Directors constituted. They are in turn assisted by a team of dedicated and experienced professionals in the various fields.
