General Instruction:
- Wherever CGPA/OGPA/DGPA or Letter Grade in a Degree / Diploma is awarded, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the online application as per norms adopted by University / institute.
- Percentage of Marks obtained by the candidate in Degree I Diploma shall be based on the practice followed by the University / Board / Institution from where the candidate has obtained the Degree. In case the University / Institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidates CGPA by maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
- Only the online applications are invited from the candidates for admissible to the post. No other mode of application is allowed.
- Degree Certificate, Caste Certificate, Odia Test Pass Certificate, Certificate of Physically Handicapped Persons must have been issued by the competent authority within the last date fixed for submission of online application form.
- A candidate found guilty of seeking support for her/his candidature by offering illegal gratification or canvasing in any form or found indulging in any type of malpractice during the course of the selection or otherwise, shall, in addition to rendering herself/ himself liable to criminal prosecution be disqualified not only for the ongoing recruitment, but also may be debarred permanently from any future recruitment or selection to be conducted by OPTCL,

- Any dispute arising out of the ongoing recruitment shall be subject to jurisdiction of High Court of Orissa.
- Candidates working in State / Central Government / PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies of Govt. shall apply online. However, he must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of Personal Interview.
- Final selection of the candidates shall be subject to medical fitness.
- Candidates selected in OPTCL are liable to be posted anywhere in Odisha.

- Candidates must enter their name in the same manner as they have entered while applying to GATE-2020. (For example, if the candidate is entering his name as Ravi Kumar Singh in the ONLINE GATE application, he/she must enter Ravi Kumar Singh (exactly same spelling and manner) while applying to OPTCL ONLINE. He must not enter R K Singh or Ravi K Singh while applying to OPTCL). The candidates must fill-in all the information boxes correctly and ‘tick’ the appropriate box, wherever applicable.
- On completion, the candidate should submit the online application by clicking the Submit button at the bottom of the page. On submission of the application, the system will generate a unique application ID along with the completed application form.

About Us:
- Started commercial operation from 01.04.2005 only as a Transmission Licensee. (a deemed Transmission Licensee under Section 14 of Electricity Act, 2003)
Notified as the State Transmission Utility (STU) by the State Govt. and discharges the State Load Dispatch functions. - ODISHA POWER TRANSMISSION CORPORATION LIMITED (OPTCL), one of the largest Transmission Utility in the country was incorporated in March 2004 under the Companies Act, 1956 as a company wholly owned by the Government of Odisha to undertake the business of transmission and wheeling of electricity in the State. The registered office of the Company is situated at Bhubaneswar, the capital of the State of Odisha. Its projects and field units are spread all over the State.
- OPTCL became fully opeartional with effect from 9th June 2005 consequent upon issue of Odisha Electricity Reform (Transfer of Transmission and Related Activities) Scheme, 2005 under the provisions of Electricity Act, 2003 and the Odisha Reforms Act, 1995 by the State Government for transfer and vesting of transmission related activities of GRIDCO with OPTCL. The Company has been designated as the State Transmission Utility in terms of Section 39 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
- Presently the Company is carrying on intra state transmission and wheeling of electricity under a license issued by the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Company is also discharging the functions of State Load Despatch Centre. The Company owns Extra High Voltage Transmission system and operates about 13,578.790 ckt kms of transmission lines at 400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV levels and 143 nos. of substations with transformation capacity of 18,068.50 MVA having 366 nos of transformers.
- The day-to-day affairs of the Company are managed by the Managing Director assisted by whole-time Functional Directors as per the advice of the Board of Directors constituted. They are in turn assisted by a team of dedicated and experienced professionals in the various fields.
