General Instructions:
- The last date of online registration is 08.04.2019 (02:00 P.M).
- No hand-written application will be entertained. The only mode of applying under this notification is online registration.
- Registration Slip with more than one copy of WBSEDCL‟s CHALLAN will be rejected.
- Candidates will be allowed to appear for the Personal Interview only with valid Admit Card and not with the Registration Slip.
- Candidates should retain Applicant‟s copy of CHALLAN and a photocopy of their Registration Slip for future reference.
- The candidates appearing/appeared in the final examination to acquire the requisite qualification (result of which is awaited) may also apply for the post. However, the final semester candidates are required to submit the pass certificate/final marksheets of the qualifying examination (as prescribed in the Notification) on the date of interview positively (if shortlisted), failing which the candidature of such candidates will stand cancelled without any reference.
- The Name of the post the applied for along with the Registration/Application No. should be super-scribed at the top of the sealed envelope.
- Depending on the requirement, WBSEDCL reserves the right to cancel/curtail/enlarge/modify the recruitment process, if deemed necessary in the interest of the WBSEDCL, without any further notice and without assigning any reason thereof. WBSEDCL is not liable to compensate the applicant for consequential damages, if any.
- Candidates employed in Govt. Departments / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies are required to produce No Objection Certificate (NOC) mandatorily at the time of Personal Interview. Otherwise, their candidature may be cancelled subsequently.
- In case of any ambiguity / dispute on account of interpretation in versions other than English, the English version will prevail.
- Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be in Kolkata.
- While applying for the above posts, the applicant must ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility including academic and professional qualification as per advertisement and other norms mentioned above.In case, it is detected at any stage of recruitment / selection (i.e. during Personal Interview/ verification of documents etc.) that a candidate does not fulfill the prescribed eligibility norms and / or that he / she has
furnished any incorrect / false / wrong information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his / her candidature will automatically stand cancelled ab-initio. If any of the above shortcoming(s) is / are detected even after appointment, his/her services are liable to be terminated without any notice. No application/prayer for relaxation of eligibility norms will be entertained by the Company. - The candidates are requested to go through the layout of qualifications and other particulars carefully before online registration and paying examination fee and other documents.

- Category [SC / ST / OBC (A) / OBC (B) / PwD etc] as submitted during Online Registration cannot be changed thereafter by the candidate and no benefits of reservation applicable to any other reserved category reservation will be subsequently made admissible to them at any stage of the selection process.Category as mentioned at the time of online registration shall remain unaltered during the recruitment process unless proved otherwise from relevant documents (e.g. caste certificate/ disability certificate). Candidates must ascertain that he/she actually belongs to SC/ST/OBC (A)/OBC (B)/PwD category etc before registering online under that specific category.
- All correspondence with candidates shall be done through E-mail / SMS only. All information regarding downloading admit card for Personal Interview etc. shall be uploaded in Company‟s website and will be provided to the concerned candidate through E-mail / SMS. The candidates will be responsible for receiving, downloading and printing interview admit card / any other information. WBSEDCL will not be responsible for any loss of E-mail / SMS sent, due to invalid / wrong E-mail ID / Mobile No. provided by the candidate or for delay / non receipt of information if a candidate fails to access his / her mail/mobile in time.
- If the Caste certificate or Disability certificate has been issued in a language other than English / Hindi, the candidates will be required to submit a self-certified translated copy of the certificate either in English or Hindi.
- Only original Registration Slip (no photocopy) shall be accepted. In case of any overwriting or tampering of Registration Slip, the candidature of the candidate shall be rejected automatically.
- Application Form not properly filled in or incomplete in any respect or without requisite documents would be summarily rejected. Willful suppression of any material fact will also be similarly dealt with.
- Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.

- The Government of West Bengal unbundled the erstwhile West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) into two companies viz., West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL).
- The main business of WBSEDCL is distribution and hydro generation of electricity. It is also the nodal Agency of the Government of West Bengal for undertaking Rural Electrification task in the State with objective of providing access of electricity to all rural households in the state in line with the National Rural Electrification Policy.
- The Company is managed by a Board of Directors comprising twelve members out of which seven are Executive Directors including Chairman & Managing Director. Besides one Woman Director and four Independent Directors constitute the Board.
- Over the years, WBSEDCL has been continually evolving to position itself as a leading Power Utility services organization of the Country. In the changing landscape, post recent global slowdown, it is anticipated that demand for electricity will change rapidly and expectations will also increase exponentially. WBSEDCL continually strives to enhance the quality of services delivered to its customers. WBSEDCL provides quality power to a gargantuan customer base of more than 1.81 crore across West Bengal through its service network spanning 5 Zones, 20 Regional Offices, 72 Distribution Divisions and 512 Customer Care Centers.
- These are indeed exciting times for the Company, given its rapid progression from providing engineering solutions, to solving complex customer challenges, to providing innovative solutions. WBSEDCL has implemented Enterprise Resource Planning – SAP in Financial Accounting & Control, Material Management, HR with Payroll, Plant Maintenance and Project System.
- After successful implementation of Purulia Pumped Stotage Project in 10th Plan period with a capacity of 900 MW hydel power, the Company has taken up the ambitious plan of implementing Turga Pumped Storage Project in the 13th Plan period with installed capacity of 4 x 250 MW.
- For solving complex customer challenges and for providing more efficient service to the consumers, a Project titled Integrated Power Development Scheme for strengthening of sub transmission and Distribution networks, metering of Distribution transformers etc. in the urban areas has been undertaken. A programme for system improvement under Sech Bandhu Scheme has also been conceived for rural areas.
