General Instruction:
- The candidate must fill in the application form in MS Word format along with the relevant amiexures as per the prescribed Proforma. The filled application should be printed and then duly signed by the candidates. The original copy of the signed application should be mailed by speed post/registered post to RIMS, Ranchi. In case of the last date falls on weekly off or holidays, then the last date of submission of application will be shifted to the next working days (up to 5:00 PM) by Registered/Speed Post only. After the due date and time applications or any other documents shall not be accepted. The institute shall not be responsible for postal delay.
- The envelope should be super-scribed with the post applied for.
- Separate applications should be sent if the candidate is applying for more than one post in a separate envelope.
- The discipline/subject for which the application(s) is/are being submitted needs to be indicated clearly.
- Self-attested photocopies of the mark sheets of all MBBS examinations, certificate(s) of educational qualifications, Caste certificate & all testimonials showing experience, etc., and one self-attested passport size photograph should be attached with the application form.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- The period of probation is two years for all posts from the date of their joining.
- Employees of Government or Semi-government departments should apply through the proper channel. However advance copy shall also be accepted provided proof of seeking a No Objection Certificate from the employer, is annexed with the application.
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- The post(s) is/are the whole time and private practice of any kind will not be allowed.
- No TA/DA will be given to the candidate(s) if called for an interview.
- Director, RIMS, Ranchi reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason.
- Canvassing in any form and /or bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification.
- In case of selection of Central/State Government employee he/she shall be allowed to join only when he/she shall give a declaration that he/she will be absorbed in the services of RIMS, Ranchi as per Rule 11(2) of RIMS Rules 2002.
- The candidate shall not be allowed to join the service of RIMS, Ranchi unless he/she is relieved from the previous organization.
- If any information/ document given by the candidate in the application form is found to be false and forged, the candidature will be canceled or service will be terminated.
- The offer of appointment to the selected candidate will be provisional and subject to verification of relevant documents/ credentials by the competent authority.
- In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection that may be detected at any stage even after the issue of the appointment letter, the Institute reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.

- The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), established on 15 August 2002 by upgrading the then Rajendra Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) originally setup in 1960, is a medical institute of in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, India. The college is an autonomous body established under an act of Jharkhand Assembly and is one of the premier medical colleges in the state and India.
- The institute provides free medical service along with medicines. Developments in the field of surgery include minimal access cosmetically sound (MACS) surgery.
- The RIMS has blocks in a multi-storied building with several medical departments. RIMS has about 33 departments which include emergency, Blood bank, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, OBST & Gynae, ENT, Eye, Anesthesiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Skin STD & Leprosy, PMR, Urology, cardiology,Radiology and others. RIMS has facilities like CT scan, emergency pathology for 24 hrs, AIDS Clinic, X-Ray, USG, TeleMedicine Department and a Deep X-Ray unit. Dental institute began functioning in 2017 with an annual intake of 50 students.
- RIMS has its own blood bank, nursing school, dental college and nursing college. At RIMS medical courses include MBBS, BDS, postgraduate – MD, MS,DM, MCh and Diploma. It also offers radiology and pathological investigation facilities.
- A Regional Institute of ophthalmology Block is coming up.
- The decision to upgrade the institute to university for conducting MBBS exams was taken in 2016.
- RIMS Ranchi has a very large and spacious campus. There is an OPD complex with entrances through central emergency and a separate entrance for OPD. Main hospital building it a 5 storied building which houses all specialty departments and Neurosurgery department. The building has large corridors connecting different wards and OTs.
