General Information:
- MDL being the Government of India Undertaking under the Ministry of Defense, It is mandatory to submit the Police Verification Report issued by the ‘Competent Authority’ (Commissioner of Police/Superintendent of Police) of the area of residence of the candidates before joining the Training. Such selected candidates will be given three weeks time to submit the PVR compulsorily from the date of joining. Failure to submit the above report may lead to the cancellation of admission.
- It may please be noted that, the monthly amount of stipend payable to the Selected Apprentice is directly credited in his/her Saving Bank Account, where ECS facility is available. Selected candidates should therefore have a saving Bank Account in his/her name where the amount of stipend can be credited directly by ECS every month. No Cheque will be issued by The Company. Saving account should be opened in a Public Sector / Private Sector Schedule Banks. It may please be noted that, As per the directives from Income Tax Department Every Individual receiving payment from the
company must have a PAN (Permanent Account Number). It is thus mandatory for the selected candidates to have theirPAN card. In the absence ofwhich Income tax will be deducted from the Stipend Amount as per the prevailing Income Tax Rate. The Candidates are therefore advised to obtain PAN Card from the Concern Authority at the earliest. - No Hostel accommodation will be provided by the company.
- Stipend rates for Trade apprentices shall be as notified by Govt. Of India from time to time. (For present applicable rates please refer Gazette of India REGD No. 33004/99 dated 25-09-2019)
- Apprentices are entitled for maximum 12 days Casual Leave in a calendar year. Casual Leave not availed shall stand lapsed at the end of the calendar year. Medical Leave up to 15 days for each year of training shall be granted to an Apprentice who is unable to attend training owing to illness. The unavailed medical leave may be allowed to accumulate up to a maximum of 40 days. A female apprentice with one surviving child
may be granted maternity leave for 90 days without stipend and apprenticeship period shall be extended accordingly. - The Apprentice engaged are supposed to put minimum attendance of 200 days (including days in Practical and Related Instruction / Theory Classes) per year of training so as to decide eligibility for All India Trade Test as per prevailing rules.
- The Apprentices are governed with Company’s Standing Orders as applicable to the MDL employees.
- The selected Male & Female apprentices will be required to strictly follow a dress code as defined by MDL while reporting for training in the Company.
- The decision of the Management regarding selection will be final. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate for selection .

- The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme in India is a one year programme equipping technically qualified youth with practical knowledge and skills required in their field of work. The Apprentices are imparted training by the organizations at their place of work. Trained Managers with well developed training modules ensure that Apprentices learn the job quickly and competently. During the period of apprenticeship, the apprentices are paid a stipend amount, 50% of which is reimbursable to the employer from Government of India. At the end of the training period the apprentices are issued a Certificate of Proficiency by Government of India which can be registered at all employment exchanges across India as valid employment experience. The apprentices are placed for training at Central, State and Private organizations which have excellent training facilities. National Apprenticeship Training Scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Government of India for Skilling Indian Youth.
- Apprenticeship is a time tested way of learning a craft or trade under a Master Craftsman through the ages. Apprenticeship Training Scheme is a scheme where young, technically qualified people undergo training under a Master Trainer to become equipped for jobs in the Modern Scenario. It has the double benefit of earning while learning. Apprenticeship is an agreement between a person (an apprentice) who wants to learn a skill and an employer who needs a skilled worker. The Apprentices are taught the latest applications, processes and methodologies in their respective fields of work from some of the most renowned organisations in India. This also acts as a transition phase for a school / college student from classroom to a working background. The apprentice also learns soft skills, work culture, ethics and organisational behaviour while undergoing training. This goes a long way in helping him/ her secure permanent employment in the future. At the end of one year training they are issued a Certificate attesting to their training and proficiency in a particular field. This serves as an experience certificate when they seek employment after their training.
