General Instruction:
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh an Autonomous Institute of National Importance is established by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India for tertiary healthcare, research in country, and attaining selfsufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
- Candidate who is already working in government service will intimate his/her Employer.
- Applicants already in Government service shall have to produce Relieving Certificate from their present employer before joining Institute.
- Employees of Institute will be governed by New Pension Scheme as per provision contained in Ministry of Finance,Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division). Notification No. 5/7/2003-ECB&PR dated 22.12.2003.
- Residential accommodation to faculty staff appointed at Institute would be provided as per rules and subject to availability. H.R.A. as admissible to Central Government Servants of similar status stationed at Rishikesh, Uttarakhand will be provided.
- Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
- Number of vacancies is subject to change without prior intimation i.e. Increase / decrease/ cancelled.
- Senior Posts (i.e. Additional Professor / Associate Professor) can be downgraded and filled by Associate Professor/Assistant Professor as per recommendation of Selection Committee.
- Prescribed qualification is minimum and mere possessing same does not entitle any candidate for selection.
- Essential qualification must be registered with MCI / NMC.
- Appointment is full time and private practice of any type is prohibited.
- He/ She is expected to conform to rules of conduct and discipline as applicable to institute employees.
- Candidate should not have been convicted by any Court of Law.
- Reservation will be as per Government of India rules / guidelines.
- In case any information given or declaration by candidate is found to be false or if candidate has willfully suppressed any material information relevant to this appointment, he/she will be liable to be removed from service and any action taken as deemed fit by appointing authority.
- Decision of competent authority regarding selection of candidates will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.
- Applications incomplete in any aspect will be summarily rejected.

- Period of probation is two years.
- Hospital Administration Qualification must be registered with MCI / NMC.

- All disputes will be subject to jurisdictions of Court of Law in Dehradun.

- All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh (AIIMS Rishikesh) is a medical college and hospital based in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India.The institute operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.Minister for Health and Family Welfare, serves as the president.It is one of the Institutes of National Importance in India.
- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Bill, 2012 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 27 August 2012. This bill also replaced a recent Ordinance which allowed the six AIIMS institutes to become operational from September 2012.Lok Sabha passed the AIIMS (Amendment) Bill on 30 August 2012.The proposed measure will help the Centre change the status of its six new AIIMS institutes registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act to be an autonomous body corporated on the lines of the existing AIIMS in Delhi. The AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha on 3 September 2012.The Rajya Sabha passed the AIIMS (Amendment) Bill, 2012 on 4 September 2012.AIIMS started its academic sessions in August 2012.A 200-bed hospital at AIIMS Rishikesh was inaugurated by then Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on 10 February 2014.
- As of 2019, AIIMS Rishikesh hospital has 880 beds, 15 functional modular operating theatres, 17 functional super speciality and 18 speciality functional.
- AIIMS started its MBBS course with 50 students and now has an intake capacity of 100 students per year. Nursing College has an intake of 100 students per year.
- The government of India has launched the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi with the objective of correcting regional imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services and also to augment facilities for quality medical education creating a critical mass of doctors and conduct research in the country relevant to the area
- Main mission is to establish a centre of excellence in medical education, training, health care and research imbued with scientific culture, compassion for the sick and commitment to serve the under served.
- The institution will be expected to absorb talent, provide highly trained medical and paramedical manpower for the country and conduct research in national and regional health problems. The institute, outside the purview of the Medical Council of India shall be allowed to experiment with innovations in medical education and serve as advisory body for making government health policies
