General Information:
- NHPC Limited, a Mini Ratna Category-I Public Sector Undertaking invites application from eligible candidates who are domicile of Himachal Pradesh for undergoing one year apprenticeship training for the Session 2021-22 under Apprentices Act, 1961 in the trades mentioned below:
- Stipend: Stipend will be as per Apprenticeship Act, 1961. The Apprentices will not be eligible for any other allowances or benefits.
- Reservation: Reservation of seats for SC, ST, and OBC (Non creamy layer) will be as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961 and the rules framed thereunder as amended till date.
- Preference will be given as under:-
a) Project Affected Families of Parbati-II HE Project will be given first preference.
b) People of Project Affected areas of Parbati-II HE Project & Kullu District will be given Second preference.
c) People of Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh will be given third preference.
d) People of other District of Himachal Pradesh will be given fourth preference. - The above mentioned vacancies may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Project.
- Candidates should be eligible with respect to age criteria and educational qualification as on closing date of advertisement. Result awaited candidates need not to apply.
- Candidates shall have no claim whatsoever as to any extension of training and/or employment in NHPC Limited.
- No boarding/lodging & transportation shall be provided to any candidate by NHPC Limited.
Selection Process:

- The eligible candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of marks secured in ITI/ 10th class. The shortlisted candidates can be call for interview if required and offered will be send through portal. The list of selected candidates will also be uploaded on the website of NHPC Limited i.e. www.nhpcindia.com.
- The candidates shortlisted shall have to produce all original testimonials/certificates such as educational certificates, ITI marksheets and certificates, caste certificate, domicile, Aadhar Card, Pan Card, etc. at the time of verification. In case any information/claim made by the applicant in his/her application is found to be false, the candidature of such applicant shall be cancelled and action as per rule will be taken.
- The candidate will have to submit Medical Fitness Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Govt. Estt.) at the time of joining.
- The selection of Apprentices will be subject to detailed provisions of Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Candidate who have already taken such training from any other Govt./Semi Govt.
organization and above 30 years shall not be considered. - Last date for submission of application – 15/01/2021
- Candidates should clearly note that NHPC Limited will in no case be responsible for rejection of application on account of application being incomplete or any delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever. The candidate will solely be responsible for this.

- The candidate must have a valid Aadhar number, Mobile number & E-mail ID before applying for Apprenticeship. ITI Passed candidates should register themselves on Apprenticeship portal at https://apprenticeshipindia.org and apply through this portal.

About Us:
- NHPC Limited (erstwhile National Hydroelectric Power Corporation) is an Indian Hydropower generation company that was incorporated in the year 1975 with an authorised capital of Rs. 2000 million and with an objective to plan, promote and organise an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects. Later on NHPC expanded its objects to include other sources of energy like Solar, Geothermal, Tidal, Wind etc.
- At present, NHPC is a Mini Ratna Category-I Enterprise of the Govt. of India with an authorised share capital of Rs. 150,000 Million . With an investment base of over Rs. 387,180 Million Approx., NHPC is among the top ten companies in the country in terms of investment. Baira Suil Power station in Salooni Tehsil of Chamba district was the first project undertaken by NHPC.
- NHPC is listed on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange on 1 September 2009. The government of India and State Governments have 74.51% share as a promoter of the Company while remaining 25.49% is public shareholding. The total number of shareholders are 191,337 and share capital is Rs. 12,300,742,773.
- At present, NHPC is a schedule ‘A’ Enterprise of the Govt. of India with an authorised share capital of Rs. 150 billion, with an investment base of over Rs. 552 billion Approx. In 2015–16 NHPC made a profit after tax of Rs 24.40 billion . An increase of 15% than the previous year profit of Rs. 21.24 billion. NHPC is among the top ten companies in India in terms of investment.
- Initially, on incorporation, NHPC took over the execution of Salal Stage-I, Bairasiul and Loktak Hydro-electric Projects from Central Hydroelectric Projects Control Board. Since then, it has executed 22 hydro projects with an installed capacity of 6717 MW on ownership basis including projects taken up in a joint venture. One wind project of 50 MW has also been commissioned in Oct 2016. NHPC has also executed 5 projects with an installed capacity of 89.35 MW on turnkey basis. Two of these projects have been commissioned in neighbouring countries i.e. Nepal and Bhutan at a capacity of 14.1 &60 MW.
