General Information:
- There is no application fee for any post.
- The Centre reserves the right not to fill-up any of the posts, if it so decides.
- Applications will be received online only. The online recruitment portal will be available from 0900 hours on 14.03.2020 to 1700 hours on 03.04.2020 for registration of application. - Upon online registration, applicants will be provided with an online Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference.
- After registration, take print out of the application summary. This print out is to be brought along with passport size photograph and documents supporting the data furnished in online application at the time of Written Test/Skill Test/ Personal Interview.Please note that site will not be open for printing after 17:00 hours of 03.04.2020.
- Candidates will have to produce original documents in proof of the details furnished in their online application at the time of Skill Test/Personal Interview for verification. Those who fail to produce the
said documents will not be allowed to attend the Skill Test/ Personal Interview and TA will not be paid. - Candidates working in Government/Public Undertaking/Quasi-Government/Autonomous Organization should ensure that their applications are sent through proper channel to Administrative Officer (Rmt.), Recruitment Section (P & GA), Building No. 30-D, Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Ambawadi Vistar P.O., Ahmedabad – 380 015 (Gujarat). Such applicant should also produce ‘NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE’ from their respective organisation in original, or an attested copy of the communication under which their applications have been forwarded for consideration at the time of appearing in the Written Test/ Skill Test / Personal Interview as the case may be.
- No documents supporting to educational qualification, caste certificate, discharge certificate, PWBD certificate etc. to be sent to SAC after completion of submission of the online application but all the relevant documents to be produced as and when required/called for by SAC. However, those who are already employed under Central/State/PSU/Autonomous Bodies should produce “No Objection Certificate” from the employer concerned as mentioned in para 07 above.
- Candidates possessing Degrees awarded by foreign universities should produce the equivalency certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, at the time of Skill Test /
Personal Interview, as the case may be. - If any information furnished in the online application is found false at any stage of recruitment process, the candidature will be cancelled.
- If a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility conditions given in the advertisement, his / her candidature will be cancelled summarily at any stage on scrutiny whenever the discrepancy is noticed.
- List of subjects for essential and pre-requisite qualification included in the advertisement against each postcode is exhaustive/final. Candidates possessing qualification in subjects other than those mentioned against each postcode are not eligible.
- Please note that the qualifications prescribed above for the posts advertised are the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make the candidates eligible for written test / skill
test / personal interview (as the case may be). Initial screening based on the data furnished in online application will be done and only Screened-In candidates will be called for further selection process at Ahmedabad. - Any request for change of written test date/Centre or skill test date/Centre or e-mail id for communication or any other information furnished in online application will NOT be entertained.
- All further communication with the candidates including intimation to eligible candidates for Written Test/Skill Test/Personal Interview will be sent through E-mail / SAC website only. For this purpose,
candidates are required to furnish their E-mail ID correctly and compulsorily while submitting the application.Moreover, the applicants are advised to check their e-mail regularly and visit the SAC
website from time to time. SAC/ ISRO will not be responsible for non-receipt of intimation regarding email or / any communication due to technical or whatsoever reasons to the candidates. - Those intending to apply for more than one post should apply separately for each post.
- In case of submission of duplicate/multiple applications by candidates for the same post, the last application submitted before the last date of submission of application shall be considered
for further processing. - Rounding-off of marks is NOT allowed.
- It is for candidates to ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria and complied with the requirements adhered to the instructions contained in this advertisement as well as in the application form. Candidates are, therefore urged to carefully read the advertisement and complete the application form and submit the same as per instructions given in this regard.
- Reservation category such as UR/EWS/SC/ST/OBC/PWBD/ESM etc. declared by the candidate in the application will be considered as final and no change in the same will be entertained.
- In respect of OBC candidates, reservation will be available only to candidates, who do not fall in creamy layer. OBC certificates must specifically include the clause regarding exclusion from Creamy Layer and should be updated /valid at the relevant point of time.
- PWBD (Persons With Disabilities) candidates have to bring original certificate of disability in the prescribed format as per Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Department of Personnel
& Training, New Delhi vide Office Memorandum No. 36035/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 29/12/2005 clearly indicating the percentage of disability, issued by Medical Board consisting of at least 3 members out of which one shall be a specialist in the particular field for assessing the disability, duly constituted by Central or a State Government at the time of Skill Test/Personal Interview. Degree of disability should be minimum 40% for Persons with Disabilities (PWBD). - Ex-servicemen have to submit a copy of the Discharge Certificate duly indicating the Ex-serviceman status at the time of Skill Test. Ex-Servicemen also have to submit necessary equivalency certificate
issued by the Competent Authorities whenever the qualification acquired by them is different from the essential qualification prescribed for the posts advertised and applied for by them. - Candidates belonging to EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) are required to produce the certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format as per Ministry of Personnel, Public
Grievances & Pension, Department of Personnel & Training vide Office Memorandum No. 36039/1/2019-Estt.(Res) dated 31/01/2019. - After joining, whenever nominated, the candidate has to undergo an Induction Training Programme at different ISRO Centres, which will be pre-requisite for confirmation in the Organisation.
- Career advancement for Scientific/Technical posts in ISRO is based on Merit Promotion Scheme where the employees are reviewed and promoted to the next higher grade on merit after a prescribed
residency period without reference to vacancies. - 03.04.2020 (LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF ONLINE APPLICATIONS) will be the cut-off date for all purposes like computation of age etc.
- In case of any ambiguity/dispute arises on account of interpretation of Hindi version, contents enumerated in English version shall finally prevail.

Selection Process:

- Written Test may be conducted for one or more posts; solely for screening purpose, if it is decided so in due course of time. In such case, instructions on conduct of written test shall be issued
separately. - Qualification prescribed is the MINIMUM requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for written test. Based on the details furnished in online application,
initial screening will be conducted. - The Written Test will be conducted only for the Screened-In candidates on 07.06.2020 (Sunday) in Ahmedabad. However, SAC/ISRO reserves the right to change the written test date/venue.
- Shortlisted candidates will be required to download the call letters using the link provided for the purpose in the allotted/allowed time-slot. For further instructions regarding downloading of the call-letters, candidates are required to check their registered email and SAC website regularly. Kindly note that only those screened-in candidates will be allowed to appear for the Written Test who have successfully downloaded the call letter during the allotted/allowed time-slot using the link provided for the purpose.
- Written Test will be conducted in such a way that theoretical and practical knowledge of the candidate is tested covering both breadth and depth of the prescribed curriculum.
- Syllabus for the Written Test is available on SAC website www.sac.gov.in.
- Based on the written test scores, required no. of candidates alone shall be called for skill test.
- The skill test will be purely on ‘go-no-go’ basis and marks obtained in the skill test will not be considered for selection. The skill test will be evaluated on a 100-point scale with minimum 60% for qualification.
- From amongst candidates who qualify in the skill test with minimum 60% marks, empanelment will be done in the order of marks obtained in the written test.
- In case of a tie in the written scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification will be the tie-breaker.
- In case, sufficient number of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWBD/Ex-servicemen candidates are not available for filling-up the vacancies reserved for these categories, possible relaxation may be extended to candidates belonging to the respective category, to make good the short-fall.

- Space Applications Centre (SAC), is a major research and development centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It plays a key role in realizing vision and mission of ISRO. Located at Ahmedabad, SAC is spread across two campuses having multi-disciplinary activities.
- The core competence of the centre lies in development of space borne and air borne instruments/payloads and their applications for national development and societal benefits. These applications are in diverse areas and primarily meet the communication, navigation and remote sensing needs of the country. Besides these, the centre also contributes significantly in scientific and planetary missions of ISRO like Chandrayan-1, Mars Orbiter Mission etc.
- The communication transponders developed at this centre for Indian National Satellite (INSAT) and Geo Synchronous Satellite (GSAT) series of satellites are used by government and private sector for VSAT, DTH, internet, broadcasting, telephony etc. These satellites are instrumental in reaching remote parts of the country. The payloads for major navigation systems of the country – Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) and GPS Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) are being developed by this centre.
- This centre designs and develops the optical and microware sensors for the satellites, signal and image processing software, GIS software and many applications for Earth Observation (EO) programme of ISRO. These applications are in diverse areas of Geosciences, Agriculture, Environment and Climate Change, Physical Oceanography, Biological Oceanography, Atmosphere, Cryosphere, Hydrosphere etc.
- The facilities at SAC includes highly sophisticated payload integration laboratories, electronic and mechanical fabrication facilities, environmental test facilities, systems reliability/assurance group, image processing and analysis facilities, project management support group and a well-stocked library. SAC has active collaborations with industry, academia, national and international institutes for research and development. The centre also has state-of-art in-house and mobile exhibitions to propagate space technology and applications amongst students and public.
- The Centre also conducts nine-month post graduate diploma courses for students from the Asia Pacific region under the aegis of the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education (CSSTEAP) in satellite meteorology and communication.
