General Instruction:
- Applications are invited through ONLINE for General Recruitment to 87 posts of Civil Judge in the Telangana State Judicial Service, comprising of 70 vacancies to be filled under Direct Recruitment, and 17 vacancies to be filled under Recruitment by Transfer. The application will be available in the official website of the High Court “tshc.gov.in” FROM 13.03.2020 to 13.04.2020. The Last date for submission of Online Application is 13.04.2020 upto 11.59 p.m. The Hand written / Typed / Photostat copy / Printed Application Form will not be entertained either directly or by Post or by Courier or in person.
- As per the revised pay scales which came into effect from 1.1.2006, the Scale of Pay of the post of Civil Judge is Rs.27,700/- to Rs.44,770/-.
- The recruitment shall be subject to the Rule of reservation in favour of the candidates belonging to S.C., S.T., Socially And Educationally Backward Class, Women and Physically Handicapped {Orthopaedically Handicapped(lower portion of the body)} as per the Telangana State judicial (Service & Cadre) Rules 2017. The reservation in respect of BC-E category shall be subject to the result of Civil Appeal Nos. 2628-2637 of 2010, on the file of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
- The reserved group candidates whose caste is not recognized in the State of Telangana as socially and educationally backward class, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe as per the Telangana State and Subordinate Rules, will be treated as OC candidates.
- The High Court reserves the right, either to increase or decrease the number of vacancies after issuance of the notification or may also cancel the notification at any stage, if the situation warrants.
- The upper age limit of 35 years is relaxable by 10 years in respect of Physically Handicapped persons [Orthopaedically Handicapped (Lower portion of the body)] as per the Telangana State Judicial (Service & Cadre) Rules, 2017.
- In case of an applicant who served in the defence services of the Indian Union and who is otherwise qualified and suitable, the period of service rendered by him/her in the defence service, shall be excluded in computing the age, for appointment by direct recruitment.
- Only those candidates who possess the qualifications prescribed under Telangana State Judicial (Service & Cadre) Rules 2017 and as per subsequent amendments issued to the said rules, vide G.O.Ms.No.3, Law (LA&J-SPL.B) Department, dated 06.1.2020, shall be eligible to apply.
- Section Officers, Court Officers, Scrutiny Officers, Accounts Officer, Court Masters, Personal Secretaries to Hon’ble Judges, Personal Secretaries to Registrars, Translators and Deputy Section Officers, Overseer, Assistant Section Officers, Computer Operators, Assistant Librarian, U.D.Stenos, Assistants, Readers and Examiners, Telex Operator, Telephone Operator, Typists and Copyists of the High Court for the State of Telangana, Hyderabad.
- Chief Administrative Officers, Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, Stenographers Grade-I, II & Ill, Senior Assistants, Junior Assistants and Typists of the Judicial Ministerial Service of the State of Telangana;
- Assistant Public Prosecutors, Senior Assistant Public Prosecutors, Additional Public Prosecutors Grade-II; of Prosecution Services of the State of Telangana;
- Section Officers in the Law Department of Secretariat of the State of Telangana;
- Section Officers in the Legislature Department of the State of Telangana; and
- Managers of the Offices of the Advocate General; Government Pleaders and Public Prosecutors of the State of Telangana;

- For the purpose of short-listing the candidates, the High Court will conduct Screening Test (Computer Based Test) for 100 marks comprising of 100 multiple choice objective type Questions. The duration of examination will be two (2) hours. The Venue and Time will be mentioned in the Hall Ticket to be downloaded by the applicant at appropriate point of time.
- The candidates who secure 40% and above marks in the screening test will be short listed in the ratio of 1:10 of the available vacancies, for calling for a written examination.
- The marks obtained in the screening test shall not be added to the marks obtained in the written examination and they shall not be counted for determining final order of merit of the candidates, as the screening test is conducted for the purpose of short listing the candidates.
- The candidate applying for being appointed under direct recruitment or by transfer who secures not less than 60% of marks in Papers I and II each in the written examination shall be eligible for viva voce carrying 50 marks.
- The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates who secure not less than 50% marks in Papers I and II each in the written examination shall be eligible for the viva-voce carrying 50 marks.
- From among the candidates qualified and eligible, the High Court shall call the candidates for viva-voce in the ratio of 1:3 proportionate to the vacancies notified.
- Further if more than one candidate secures same cut off marks, all such candidates shall be called upon to appear for viva-voce.
- The final selection of the candidates is based on the aggregate marks obtained in written examination and viva-voce.
- If any of the candidate suppresses any information/furnishes any false information in his/her application form and the same is detected at any later stage i.e. during the stage of conducting of examinations, selection and appointment to the post, action will be taken against such candidate in accordance with Law.
- Mere selection does not confer any right on a candidate and his/her appointment shall be subject to verification of antecedents.

- The High Court of Telangana is the High Court of the Indian state Telangana. Founded by the 7th Nizam H.E.H Mir Osman Ali Khan, initially it was set up as High Court of Hyderabad for the then Princely State of Hyderabad Deccan and later renamed High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as it was set up on 5 November 1956 under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956. The Andhra Pradesh High Court was renamed as High court of Judicature at Hyderabad in view of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state.
- The President of India, on 26 December 2018, issued orders bifurcating The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh into High Court of Andhra Pradesh with the principal seat at Amaravati and High Court for the State of Telangana with the principal seat at Hyderabad. The bifurcation and the constitution of separate High Courts for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh came into effect from 1 January 2019.
- From 2 June 2014, after the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 came into force, it was renamed and served as a common high court for both of the states until January 1st 2019. A separate high court was established for Andhra Pradesh and inaugurated on 1 January 2019 and it was named as Andhra Pradesh High Court.
- The seat of the high court is in Hyderabad and has been sanctioned for 24 judges.
- The State of Andhra Pradesh was formed in 1956 by the separation of the merger of the Andhra State which was formed in the year 1953 from erstwhile Madras state and the Telangana area of Hyderabad Deccan which was acceded by Government of India on 17 September 1948 after the Nizam’s rule. On 1 January 2019, Telangana High Court was bifurcated into Andhra Pradesh High Court and Telangana High Court after the formation of state of Telangana.
