General Conditions:
- NPCIL, a premier Public Sector Enterprise under Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India having comprehensive capability in all facets of Nuclear Technology viz. Site Selection, Design, Construction, Commissioning, Operation, Maintenance, Renovation, Modernization, & Upgradation, Plant life extension, Waste Management and Decommissioning of Nuclear Reactors in India under one roof.
- Applications from the candidates passed out from ITI Courses are invited for engagement of Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended from time to time in the Tarapur Maharashtra Site, Tarapur Atomic Power Station 1 to 4 in Palghar District, Maharashtra to make it more responsive to the needs of youth and industry.
- Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprentice training under the apprentice Act, 1961 in any Central/State Government or Public Sector Undertaking or any Private
organization are not eligible to apply. - The minimum age of the applicants as on 21 st January, 2020 should not be below 16 years for all candidates and maximum age upto 24 years for General/EWS candidates. Relaxation upto 5 years for
SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates would be given as per the Govt. of India Directives. - Interested candidates are first required to register in the web portal http://apprenticeship.gov.in for enrolment as apprentices. The applications will not be accepted without registration in the above
mentioned web portal. - Those who have enrolled for apprenticeship in the web portal http://apprenticeship.gov.in, have to apply for the respective trade through the Establishment Registration No. E06172702965, the
establishment id for Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd, Tarapur Maharashtra Site. - The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is an Indian public sector undertaking based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is wholly owned by the Government of India and is responsible for the generation of nuclear power for electricity. NPCIL is administered by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
- NPCIL was created in September 1987 under the Companies Act 1956, “with the objective of undertaking the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the atomic power stations for generation of electricity in pursuance of the schemes and programmes of the Government of India under the provision of the Atomic Energy Act 1962.” All nuclear power plants operated by the company are certified for ISO-14001 (Environment Management System).
- NPCIL was the sole body responsible for constructing and operating India’s commercial nuclear power plants till setting up of BHAVINI Vidyut Nigam) in October 2003. As of 10 August 2012 the company had 21 nuclear reactors in operation at seven locations, a total installed capacity of 6780 MWe.Subsequent to the government’s decision to allow private companies to provide nuclear power, the company has experienced problems with private enterprises “poaching” its employees.
