General Information:
- The appointments on contract basis will be for a period up to the end of the academic year 2019-20.
- No appointment made in one academic year will extend to the next academic year. Re-engagement will not be considered after completion of the term of the appointment.
- The appointments will be made after conducting interview in each subject.
- Dates of interview will be published on University website. No individual communication will be sent to the applicants.
- The fee for online registration is Rs. 220/-(Rupees Two hundred and Twenty only).

- On the basis of personal Interviews after shortlisting on the basis of qualification and experience.
- Online Applications are invited for preparing panel for the appointment of Assistant Professors on Contract Basis (subject to the approval from the Govt) at the University Departments/Centres for the academic year 2019-2020. Arising vacancies will be filled from the panel prepared.
- Single Post, E/B/T – Ezhava, Billava, Thiyya, PH – Physically Handicapped (First Turn goes to blindness & Low Vision 2nd Turn 34-Deaf & Hard of Hearing 3rd Turn- Locomotor),OBC – Other Backward Caste , SC-Scheduled Caste, .LC/AI – Latin Catholic/Anglo Indians Community Rotation (Turn) is prepared as per University rules.
- Minimum qualification prescribed for the post of Assistant Professors in the UGC Amended Regulations 2014/NCTE norms/AICTE norms. . The Assistant Professors on contract basis with minimum qualification prescribed for the post of Assistant Professor shall be eligible for a consolidated remuneration of Rs25.000/- per month.
- Below 40 years (Upper age limit prescribed will be relaxed in the case of OBC,SC/ST and Physically Challenged persons by 3 years, 5 years and 10 years respectively subject to the relevant provisions of KS & SSR). Retired College/University teachers upto the age of 70 will be eligible for appointment to the post of Course Directors/ Assistant Directors.

- Kannur University was established by the Act 22 of 1996 of Kerala Legislative Assembly. The University by the name “Malabar University” had come into existence earlier by the promulgation of an Ordinance by the Governor of Kerala, on 9th November 1995. The University was inaugurated on 2nd March 1996 by the former Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala. The objective of the Kannur University Act 1996 is to establish in the state of Kerala a teaching, residential and affiliating University, promoting the development of higher education in Kasargod and Kannur revenue districts and the Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad District.
- Kannur University is unique in the sense that it is a multi-campus university with campuses spread over at various locations under its jurisdiction. The Act envisages that the University shall establish, maintain, manage and develop campuses at Kannur, Kasaragod, Mananthavady, Payyannur, Thalassery, Kanhangad and such other places as are necessary for providing study and research facilities to promote advanced knowledge in Science and Technology and other relevant disciplines.
- Kannur University was inaugurated on 2 March 1996 by E.K.Nayanar, then Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala. Dr.P.K.Rajan was the first Vice-Chancellor. The objective of the Kannur University Act, 1996 was to establish in the state of Kerala a teaching, residential and affiliating university to provide for the development of higher education in Kasargod and Kannur revenue Districts and the Mananthavady Taluk of Wayanad District.
