General Instruction:
- Applications are invited from eligible candidates through e-mail for the following post under the project entitled ‘MYAS-NIN Department of Sports Sciences under Indian Institute of Sports sciences & Research (IISSR) of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), GOI”. Applications will be received from the individuals by e-mail to proiectsnin2020recruitment(W.qmail.com up to 12th April, 2021. Applications received after due date will not be considered under any circumstances The candidates have to download the application form from www.nin.res in and fill it with his/her own handwriting and send the same to the above mail along with supporting documents of essential qualifications (scanned copies).
- After verification of the applications, the names of eligible candidates list will be displayed on the official website www.nin.res.in. Interviews will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates through online (Video call/ Video-Conferencing) to select suitable candidate in later course. The candidates have to make their own arrangements for Video Call/ Video-Conferencing facilities for Online Interviews. The link will be sent to the shortlisted candidates for online interviews. The applicants are advised to visit our website regularly for any updates and changes in the recruitment process.
- The above positions/posts are on temporary contract basis.
- The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept/ reject any application without assigning any reason(s) and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.
- Age relaxation is admissible in respect of Retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-Servicemen in accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from time to time. Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons. Age, qualifications, etc., will be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications.
- The appointment can be terminated with one-month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
- Since, the posts are temporary; the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointment at ICMR-NIN or continuation of his/ her services in any other project.
- Other allowances like CCA, LTC, Medical Claim and PF are not applicable.
- The results of the final selection will be placed on NIN website only. No intimation will be sent by e-mail or phone.
- The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per project recruitment rules/guidelines and will have to give an undertaking before joining.
- At the time of joining duty, the candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), Experience, Aadhaar Card, Community and PH Certificate (if applicable) for availing age relaxation, passport size photograph along with one set of photocopies of the certificates duly attested (can be self attested) for verification.
- The conditions of employment will be the same as that of the project staff on contract basis.

- The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) is an Indian Public health, Nutrition and Translational research center located in Hyderabad, India. The institute is one of the oldest research centers in India, and the largest center, under the Indian Council of Medical Research, located in the vicinity of Osmania University. The institute has associated clinical and pediatric nutrition research wards at various hospitals such as the Niloufer Hospital for Women and Children, the Government Maternity Hospital, the Gandhi Medical College and the Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad.
- The National Centre for Laboratory Animal Science (to be integrated into the National Animal Resource Facility for Biomedical Research), the Food and Drug Toxicology Research Centre, the National Nutrition Monitoring Bureau are the other wings of NIN,for India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.The institute also derives funding from the Indian Department of Biotechnology. The institute majorly conducts research in obesity,diabetes, food chemistry, dietetics, clinical toxicology, and micronutrient deficiency in collaboration with centers such as the Rockefeller University, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Washington University, and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the U.S..and the University of Wollongong in Australia.
- The Institute was founded in 1918 by Sir Robert McCarrison. It was originally a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu for the study of Beriberi, and was called the Beri-Beri Enquiry Unit.McCarrison was invalided to Britain from 1920–1922, and in 1923 the enquiry was axed on financial grounds. It was restored two years later as the Deficiency Disease Inquiry, which McCarrison headed from 1925–1929. The scope of the laboratory expanded to include all deficiency diseases, and around 1928-29 became the Nutrition Research Laboratories (NRL), with McCarrison as its first Director, until his retirement in 1935, when he was succeeded by Dr. W.R. Ackroyd.The facility moved to Hyderabad in 1958 and in 1969 was renamed the National Institute of Nutrition.
- The institute carries out research and patent development in clinical nutrition, outcomes research, pharmacology,pathology, toxicology, food chemistry,endocrinology, molecular biology,regenerative medicine,community nutrition, ophthalmology,and sports nutrition.Agencies such as WHO and FAO recognized the institute as a Centre for excellence in food quality, safety and nutrition research.
