General Information:

  • Applications are invited to attend the “Interview (online through video conferencing)” for the position of one Junior Research Fellow- 01 No. under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries Funded Project “Development of Crisps from Fruits and Vegetables” at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. The eligible candidates are requested to send their application along with scanned copy of the original documents through email to head bhtic4iari.res.in with copy to shalinigaur(ieiari.res.in by 3rd December 2020. After screening of the applications, eligible candidates will be informed about interview on 10th December 2020 by mail or over phone. The detailed information on qualifications, emoluments, proforma and other conditions etc can be downloaded from the IARI website http://www.iari.res.in.
  • Applications are invited to attend Interview (in-person/ online through video conferencing) for the following posts in Ministry of Food Processing Industries Funded Project “Development of Crisps from Fruits and Vegetables” at ICAR- Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. The positions are of temporary nature and co-terminus with the project.
  • Owing to the prevailing COVID-19 crisis, candidates may choose for interview either in- person or through online process. The eligible candidates are requested to send their application in the enclosed proforma along with scanned copy of the original documents either through email to head Thtgiari scs.in with copy to shalinigaurgiari.res.in or by post to Head, Division of Food Science and Postharvest Technology, NRL building, Pusa campus, New Delhi-110012. The last date of receiving applications is 3rd December 2020. The date and time of interview which is fixed on 10.12.2020 will informed only to shortlisted candidates by email or over phone. Original documents of the candidates appearing interview in-person will be verified on the interview date and for the candidates appearing online interview will be verified at a later stage.
  • Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like qualification, age, etc. before applying for the position.
  • Candidates having essential qualification will only be considered for interview.
  • Upper age limit for JRF is 35 years (men) and 40 years (women). Age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC as per GOI/ICAR norms.
  • Candidates appearing for interview-in person are required to bring the relevant certificates/ mark sheets etc. in original along with an application with full bio-data enclosing photocopies of certificates and mark sheets from matric onwards duly self attested, affixing a passport size photograph on the top.
  • If any candidate is found to have submitted false claims at later stage, their candidature will be summarily rejected.
  • Reporting time for interview online will be communicated and all candidates shall adhere to the instructions.
  • No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview.
  • Candidates whose near/ distant relative(s) is an employee of ICAR-IARI, has to declare it and communicate to this office as per format attached (Declaration). Such declaration should reach the undersigned by post or through e-mail at head pht(iijarises.in. If communicated or declared on the date of interview the candidate may not be interviewed.
  • These posts are temporary, purely contractual basis and co-terminus with the project. Selected candidates have no right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever in ICAR/IARI.
  • The Director, ICAR-IARI, N. Delhi reserves the right to cancel/postpone the interview without assigning any reason thereof
  • The Director shall also reserve the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be made.
  • The candidate should produce No-Objection certificate from his/her present employer (if employed) for appearing in the interview and joining the post on selection.
  • Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of the such candidate.
  • The JRF will not be entitled for any regular leave, but are allowed to have CL and RH from time to time, not exceeding 8+2 = 10 days in a year. They are full time employees and are reuired to adhere to administrative, financial and disciplinary regulations of ICAR-IARI.
  • Selected candidate has to submit medical fitness certificate (recent) at the time of joining.
  • In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.

  • The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).
  • During the fifties, the advancement of scientific disciplines constituted the core program of IARI and provided the base for its fast expansion in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It attained the status of a Deemed University in the year 1958. The green revolution that brought smiles to millions of Indians bloomed from the fields of IARI with the development of famous wheat varieties which contributed an estimated on billion tones of addition production. As the Mother of several ICAR institutions, IARI continues to be the leading institution for agricultural research, education and extension in the country.
  • The present campus of the Institute is a self-contained sylvan complex spread over an area of about 500 hectares (approx. 1250 acres) and located about 8 km (5 miles) west of New Delhi Railway Station and about 16 km (10 miles) east of IGI Airport (Palam). The location stands at 28.08 0N and 77.12 0E, the height above mean sea level being 228.61 meters (750 feet). It is adjacent to hillside road.
  • Currently, the Institute has 20 divisions 5 multi-disciplinary Centres situated in Delhi, 8 regional stations, 2 off-season nurseries, 3 All India coordinated research projects with headquarters at IARI and 10 national Centres functioning under the all India coordinated research projects. It has the sanctioned staff strength of 3540 comprising scientific, technical, administrative and supporting personnel.
