General Information:
- Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (on contract) in CSIR funded research project entitled “Modeling and Simulation of Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology Data in Indian Context: An Ontology Based Data Mining Approach” in reference to the sanction letter no. File No. 60(0120)/19/EMR-II dated: 17-07-2019. The duly completed application on prescribed format along with copies of supporting documents must reach to Dr. Sonali Agarwal, Department of Information Technology, Room No. 5203, Computer Centre – 3, Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad, Devghat, Jhalwa, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India 211015 on or before 20/11/2020. The envelope should be super scribed as “Application for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (on contract) in the CSIR funded research project entitled “Modeling and Simulation of Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology Data in Indian Context: An Ontology Based Data Mining Approach”. - No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
- The first and foremost responsibility of the candidate is to fulfil the jobs’ requirements to complete the above mentioned project in timely manner.
- The association between PI and the candidate can be discontinued at any time by giving one month’s notice in writing either by the PI of the project to candidate, or by candidate to the PI of the project.
- Candidate selected for this position can also apply for the regular PhD program in IT Department, provided they satisfy the eligibility criterion followed by selection process laid down by the institute.
- After qualifying the PhD admission / selection test the candidate will be registered as regular PhD scholar and eligible to draw the fellowship and other allowances as per the Institute rules.
- This appointment will be purely contractual. Initially appointment will be for first one year. It will be renewed for another year or till the end of project whichever is earlier based on the performance of the candidate and recommendation of the selection/review committee.
- Hostel accommodation may be provided as per Institute rules.

- Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-Allahabad) is a public university located in Allahabad (Jhalwa, Allahabad), in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the nineteen Indian Institutes of Information Technology listed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
- The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) was established in 1999. The institute was conferred as a “Deemed University” in 2000. In 2014 the IIIT Act was passed, under which IIITA and four other Institutes of Information Technology funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development were classed as Institutes of National Importance.
- The first director of the institute was M.D. Tiwari, from 1999 to 2013. G.C. Nandi served as director in-charge on the first four months of 2014, until Somenath Biswas took over the directorship and served from May 2014 to July 2016. After another stint by Nandi as director (Offg) that lasted until May 2017,P. Nagabhushan was appointed director.
- IIIT-Allahabad was ranked 119 in the BRICS nations by the QS World University Rankings of 2019 and 351-400 in Asia in 2020.
