General Information:
- The eligible candidates are invited for Walk-In-Interview on 6 th March 2019 (Wednesday) for one post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the project entitled “Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources of Tapi Basin” sponsored by Min. of Water Resources, Govt. of India.This post of JRF is purely on contractual basis for project duration and based on the availability of funds under the provisions of project.
- subject to review of performance by institute level Review Committee Tentative period (3 years or project duration whichever falls earlier subject to institute norms, satisfactory performance and availability of grants in the project).
- Knowledge of computer programming, handling of Hydrologic & Hydraulic modeling and Arc GIS software.
- Candidates having higher qualification and experience in relevant field will be preferred.
- Essential Qualification:(1) B.E./B.Tech. Degree in Civil Engineering (2) M.E./M.Tech. Degree in Water Resource Engineering (Those who have submitted thesis may also apply) (3) GATE qualified with valid GATE score in Civil Engineering.
- The eligible candidates are required to report on 6 th March, 2019 between 9.30AM10.30AM in the office of the Head of Department of Civil Engineering, MANIT, Bhopal for interview.
- They are required to bring the duly filled prescribed application form attached herewith and all original documents related to UG, PG degree and experience with one set of zerox copies. Those who have submitted thesis must bring certificate from the head of department of concerned department.
- Applicants are required to refer to the institute web-site (www.manit.ac.in) for any change in date of interview. The responsibility of checking the institute web-site will lie with the applicant.
- The post is purely on contractual basis and the selected candidate will have no right what so ever for absorption/regularization in the Institute.
- The services of selected candidates can be dispensed with even before the termination of the project without any notice if his/her services are no more required or his/her contribution is considered not up to the mark.
- The selected candidate has to go for field visits of Tapi river basin for data collection and other work.
- No TA/DA will be reimbursable to the candidates appearing for walk-in-interview.

- The total area of campus is 650 acres and protected by boundary wall and ring road. The entire campus consists of administrative and academic building, workshop, Library and community center, Residential area accommodation for students and staff and other general amenities such as post office, Shopping complex, a School for children, dispensary, an auditorium with the capacity of 1000 persons and sports complex with vast expand of open area.
- The Institute is named after the renowned educationalist and scholar, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, former Union Education Minister, Government of India. The foundation stone of the Institute building laid by the Prime Minister late Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 23rd April 1961.The Institute Progressed into the higher level of an education center in the steady development of infrastructure as well as academics.
- In the beginning, five years degree program in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical was started. In 1963, five year program in Architecture (B. Arch) was started. In 1964, Institute is shifted to its own building in the present campus. During the year 1964 to 1965, two hostel 1 and 2 started functioning, and a post office also opened in the same year. In 1966, library and lecture hall G1 to G9 were constructed, and hostel 4 and 5 also started functioning. In the same year, industrial oriented M.Tech program in Thermal and Hydro Electrical started under the UNESCO assistance. In 1967 hostel 6 is completed and in 1968, two M.Tech courses in Engineering Material for Design and Hydro Electrical and Foundation Engineering were started. In 1969, two M.Tech part time program started to cater the industrial needs.
- In 1970 to 1971 additional M. Tech part time course was started. Student’s cooperative store started to cater the basic material supply to the students. In 1972, Bachelor degree program in Electronics and Communication engineering was started. In 1976, Dispensary building, III and IV type quarters were constructed. As an academic improvement program, a journal of MACT was started. In collaboration with BHEL, the PORL started to test the hydro machines, which in unique facilities available in the institute. In 1975 12 new Type VIII quarters were completed and Girl’s Hostel of the capacity of 48 was completed.
- n 1980, lecture hall G7, G8 and G9, Workshop and library building was completed. In 1981, a full time M.Tech course on Stress and Vibration was started. In the period of 1982 to 1984 first floor of D block and another Girls Hostel with the additional capacity of 48 and PG classroom, C block and 8 bachelor’s flats were constructed.
- In 1985 silver jubilee auditorium renovated. In 1986 to 1987 bachelor degree in Computer science and Engineering and three years MCA program was started.In 1988, The first floor of J block and in 1989 officer’s club was constructed.
- Students was increased from 12 to 18. Presently 29 M. Tech courses are running. Ordinance of UG, PG and PhD were established.
