General Information:
- Applications are invited from Indian citizens for following three profiles for a Govt. of India funded project (IITM/DSRIC/03/2020/10-27) undertaken in the School of Computing and Electrical Engineering, IIT Mandi.
- LakshmanRekha is a prototype system (mobile app) for Post COVID quarantine management guarantees to locate the geofenced area and is capable to continuously monitor and accurately detect the identity of a quarantined person so that no quarantined user can breach the geo-fence.

- Candidates meeting the aforementioned qualification and experience should submit their details (latest CV, scanned passport-sized photograph, etc.) via. this Google form: https://forms.gle/6o8o4E9ZQ9ZCkZbb9, by 15 th January 2021. - An online screening test will be conducted on : 20 th January 2021
- The final interview will be held online via Google Meet; date and time of the interview along with the meeting link will be shared by email to the shortlisted candidates.
- The selected candidate will need to join the position immediately (from 1st February 2021)
- The position is initially for 3 months and can be extended for 3 more months depending upon the performance.
- Merely fulfilling the eligibility requirement does not guarantee to shortlist for the interview; higher shortlisting criteria may be imposed.
- The decision of the selection committee regarding the interview logistics and selection process for the aforementioned post will be final.
- The selection committee reserves the right to fill up or not fill up the advertised post.

- Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is a public technical and research university located in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.
- Since the first batch of 97 students joined in July 2009, IIT Mandi has grown to currently host 125 faculty, 1,655 students (enrolled in various undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes) and 1,141 alumni. Since the inception of the Institute, IIT Mandi faculty have been involved in over 275 Research and Development (R&D) projects worth more than Rs. 120 crore. In the past 10 years, the Institute has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with as many as 11 international and 12 national universities.
- IIT Mandi’s permanent campus (about 14 km from Mandi) is fully functional on the left bank of the Uhl River at Kamand and Salgi villages in Mandi . Timothy A. Gonsalves is the founding Director (15/1/2010-30/6/2020) of IIT Mandi and R. C. Sawhney served as the first Registrar.Prof. Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee took charge as Acting Director from 1st July, 2020.
- IIT Mandi is one of eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India in 2008 under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 which declares these eight IITs as well as the conversion of Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University to IIT.The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012.
- IIT Mandi was mentored by IIT Roorkee, which hosted the first batch of students.
- Construction began on 24 February 2009.IIT Mandi was registered as a society in Uttarakhand on 20 June 2009. Classes started in IIT Roorkee, the mentoring IIT, on 27 July 2009.The transit campus at Government Post graduate College, Mandi was handed over by the Himachal Pradesh Government on 16 November 2009.
- On 25 April 2015, IIT Mandi became the first of all the new IITs to completely shift B.Tech. students to its permanent campus in Kamand.
- Having started its journey in 2009 with 510 acres (210 ha) of grassland on the banks of river [Uhl River/ Uhl] in the village Kamand of Himachal Pradesh, 460 kilometres (290 mi) away from New Delhi, the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has made impressive and rapid strides towards creating a remarkable and unique campus in the challenging yet serene Himalayan setup.The campus is split up internally in two halves namely, the North Campus and the South Campus. Proper communication has been facilitated by the college for students, staffs and faculty for communication between north and south campus.
