General Information:
- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier autonomous Institution established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for promotion of high quality science education and research in the country.
- Eligible candidates may apply for concerned posts by sending their application to concerned email address, as per prescribed format. - The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the project.

- The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
- The prescribed educational qualification is the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be called for selection process. Where number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to carry out selection process for all the candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the Project Investigator may restrict the
number of candidates to be called for the selection process to a reasonable limit after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying. - Age relaxation commensurate with experience of the applicant may be considered with the prior approval of the competent authority.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview.
- No interim enquiries / correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained on the matter.

- Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (IISER Pune) is an autonomous public research university established in 2006. It is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research, and was one of the first IISERs to be established along with IISER Kolkata. It is located in the city of Pune, India.
- The construction of the final campus was completed in 2012.The campus is of 98 acres.
- IISER Pune offers integrated masters programmes (BS-MS), an integrated doctoral programme (Int. PhD) and a doctoral programme (PhD).
- Admission to the master’s degree is through the IISER joint admission process which provides three channels for admission: Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced and state and central boards candidates, which require an additional IISER Aptitude Test. Admission to the various PhD programmes is either with a master’s degree in science or with a bachelor’s degree, for the integrated PhD programme. Candidates are screened by interviews.In addition to that candidates should have qualified a national level entrance exam for PhD program in science (like GATE)
- The faculty is organised by various disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Climate Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Physics. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged across disciplines.The first batch of students graduated in 2012.
- IISER Pune is a research-intensive teaching institute. Our faculty and students investigate questions in science that lie beyond the boundaries of conventional thinking. The whole ambience is very academic.
- We are a member of Association of Indian Universities. Since inception, IISER Pune has published over 2000 research papers in highly reputed journals, of which several have come out of 5th year research projects of BS-MS students. IISER Pune has been ranked 23 in Overall category in the NIRF 2019 India Rankings.
- The Government of India, through the Ministry of Education, has established seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER). These institutes are located in Bhopal, Berhampur, Mohali, Pune, Kolkata, Thiruvanantapuram and Tirupati.
