General Information:
- Applications are invited for engagement of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the project “Study on Determining Storage Losses of Wheat and Paddy Stored in CAP System and to Recommend Norms for Storage Losses” at ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana (ICAR-CIPHET).The appointments will be purely temporary under contractual and co-terminus basis, following the prescribed procedure for six months or till the completion date of the project. The appointments may be terminated at any time without notice or assigning any reason thereof. The candidates possessing required qualifications given below may appear before the selection committee at Committee Room, ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), PO: PAU, Ludhiana-141004 (Punjab).
- The above positions are purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project.
- There is no provision for absorption/ re-employment in ICAR/ CIPHET/ after completion of time bound project.
- Place of work will be ICAR-CIPHET, Ludhiana, however, the candidate may be placed anywhere in India depending upon requirement of the project.
- No TA / DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- The applicants must bring with them original documents and a brief of research work carried out during post-graduation / PhD along with one set of photocopy at the time of interview.
- No objection certificate from the employer in case he/she is employed elsewhere.
- Experience certificate in original (if any).
- No separate interview call will be issued to the candidates.
- All eligible candidates are requested to be present 30 minutes before scheduled time on the date of Interview for necessary formalities.

- The ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) was established on 3rd October 1989 at the PAU Campus, Ludhiana, Punjab, India as a nodal institute to undertake lead researches in the area of the Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology appropriate to agricultural production catchment and agro-industries.
- The institute’s second campus was established on 19 March 1993 at Abohar, Punjab, India. Which is primarily responsible for conducting research and development activities on fruits and vegetables, and commercial horticultural crops. ICAR-CIPHET is also headquarters for two All India Coordinated Research Projects (AICRPs) viz. AICRP on Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (PHET) at 31 Centres and AICRP on Plasticulture Engineering & Technology (PET) at 14 Centre’s.
- Research on post-harvest processing, preservation, storage and value addition of agricultural commodities.
- Human resource and entrepreneurship development in post-harvest engineering and technology.
- Creating prosperity through minimization of post harvest losses from 15% to 5% and increase in value addition from present level of 10% to 30% to produce and by-products from crops, horticulture, livestock and fisheries sectors.
- Higher profitability of agricultural production systems ensuring better income to farmer sand increased employment opportunities in rural sector through efficient post harvest engineering and technological interventions for loss reduction and value addition to agricultural produce and byproducts resulting in high quality and safe food and feed at competitive prices for domestic and export markets.
