Master degree , Knowledge of Computer application with 2 yrs experience,/Bachelor degree or its equivalent with Typing speed of 35 wpm in English and 25 wpm in Hindi is essential.

General Instructions:
- Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, age and eligibility, experience criteria etc. laid down in the advertisement before applying for the relevant post.
- Good knowledge of Computer applications (on emails, MS Office, presentations software etc. and OS like MS-Windows, LINUX etc.) is a must.
- Initially the contract appointment will be for a period of one year or as decided by the committee, which may be extended annually up to three years based on the performance and requirement.
- The emoluments will be commensurate with the applicable level in the 7th CPC applicable for NIT system and shall be based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.The decision in this regard shall be taken by the selection committee which shall be final. No further claim/negotiation in this regard shall be entertained. An annual increment of 3% to 5% may be given based on the performance.
- The appointment is purely on contract basis and appointee on contract shall have no right to claim for regularization in future.
- Shortlisted candidates shall be called for Trade Test/Personal Interview. Mere possession of requisite qualification may not ensure short listing and Institute may apply higher than minimum cut off criteria to ensure reasonable number of candidates.
- Incomplete applications and without supporting documents will be summarily rejected.
- The Institute reserves the right to fill all/some/none of the post advertised without assigning any reason thereof.
- Original degrees/certificate/proof of date of birth/experience certificate and other testimonials towards fulfillment of specified eligibility conditions shall have to be produced by the candidates, at the time of their interview, if called for.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending trade test/personal interview.
- Notwithstanding anything contained in terms & conditions mentioned above the decision of the authorities of NIT Sikkim in this regard will be conclusive and binding for all.

- The National Institute of Technology Sikkim, commonly referred to as NIT Sikkim or NIT SKM, is a public engineering and research institution near the city of Ravangla in Sikkim, India. Founded in 2010, it is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It is an autonomous institute and functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
- National Institute of Technology, Sikkim is one among the ten newly sanctioned National Institutes of Technology by the Government of India under the 11th Five year Plan, 2009.[6] NIT Sikkim started functioning in August, 2010.
- Currently, it is being operated from a temporary campus at the Barfung Block, Ravangla, Sub Division of South Sikkim. Ravangla campus is surrounded by great scenic beauty. It is likely to continue its activities at Ravangla Campus till its permanent campus comes up at Khamdong, Sikkim
- All courses and examinations are conducted in the English language as the only mode of instruction. NIT Sikkim offers a 4-year Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programme in various engineering fields, as well as a 2-year Master of Technology (M.Tech) programmes and Ph.D. Programmes. Admission to undergraduate programmes is taken through JEE (Main). Admission to the postgraduate courses is through the GATE for Master of Technology (M.Tech).
- India has the capability and the responsibility to offer the World Science & Technology essentially with sustainability, through philosophy, conscience and value system. NIT Sikkim will play its role.
