Internship for B.Tech/M.Tech Civil Engineering Students in National Highway Projects
Apply to NHAI Internship for B.Tech/M.Tech Civil Engineering Students
MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) has decided to provide internship opportunities to final year B.Tech/M.Tech Civil Engineering students of IITs, NITs, and Government/Private Engineering colleges in National Highway projects. A total of 100 students will be selected for the internship program, with 75 students from B.Tech and 25 students from M.Tech. The internship period will be a minimum of 3 months, with at least 12 weeks assigned to the contractor and consultant of a specific highway project. The interns will learn through practical work experience.
To apply for the internship, students must submit their applications online on the AIGTE portal and provide relevant details, including their bonafide status as a final year student (B.Tech/M.Tech) certified by the concerned Director/Principal/Dean of the institute. Eligibility for the internship requires a CGPA of 7.0 (a score of 70% is considered equivalent to a 7.0 CGPA) in the completed semesters. The completed application must be submitted online on or before 15th July 2073.
Vacancy Notice NHAI Internship for B.Tech/M.Tech Civil Engineering Students
The Ministry will shortlist the applicants and assign them to different National Highway projects under the implementing agencies of the Ministry, such as NHAI, NHIDCL, BRO, and State PWDs. Selection will be based purely on merit, separately for B.Tech and M.Tech students.
During the internship, the implementing agencies of the Ministry will provide a stipend of Rs. 10,000/- per month to undergraduate students and Rs. 15,000/- per month to postgraduate students. Adequate accommodation and transportation facilities will also be provided to the interns.
There will be a mid-term evaluation and a final evaluation of the interns upon completion of the internship. Only those candidates who successfully complete the internship will be issued an internship certificate. The evaluation process includes a presentation on internship learning and experience (20 marks), a report on internship learning and experience (40 marks), general assessments by the Project Manager of the contractor/concessionaire (10 marks), the Team Leader of AE/IE/PMC (10 marks), and the PD/EE of NHAI/NHIDCL/BRO/State PWD (10 marks). Attendance will also be considered for evaluation, with 10 marks allocated. The minimum pass mark is 75. The RO, MoRTH/N
HAI/NHIDCL/SE, BRO will assess the presentation and report, award marks, and make the final decision regarding the issuance of the internship certificate based on the total score.
The internship will be provided to selected students based on their convenience and academic schedule during the academic year 2023-74.
